Job Description:
Recommend revisions and color ways on stripes, plaids, and prints. Meet independently with vendors. Assist in ensuring that product is consistent with market trends as well as business strategy. Design, sketch, and provide specification of new designs. Choose fabrics and trims that are the right quality, aesthetic, and price point for category. Ensure sketches and specifications are kept up to date with any changes. Attend and contribute to all fittings. Coordinate sample production process to ensure samples are produced and delivered on a timely basis. Foster an increased development in sample fits and line edits.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Fashion Design or a related field followed by 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or related occupation.
Experience and/or education must include:
1. 4 years of experience with Adobe illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft, Excel & Office, and Indesign;
2. 4 years of experience with designing & creating tech packs and make fit comments for all wovens including outerwear, tops, dresses, and bottoms categories;
3. 3 years of experience with outerwear construction including finishes, fabrics, hardware, and stitches;
4. 4 years of experience with artwork for print & embellishment by computer and hand;
5. 4 years of experience with sketching both by hand & Adobe illustrator;
6. 4 years of experience with pattern making, draping, and specking garments;
7. 4 years of experience with comment on lap dips, confirm quality of trims, fabrics, washes, artwork, strike offs, & handloom approvals;
8. 4 years of experience with re-design product for cost efficiency by proposing new patterns and construction; and PLM or Web PDM.
