Overview
The Senior Analyst in Category Merchandising manages and analyzes the assortments (styles carried by each Tiffany store location) for specific product categories, determines a baseline assortment strategy for retail locations, initiates and facilitates new product development, and establishes unit pricing to achieve gross margin objectives. The Senior Analyst is also responsible for proofing marketing material, updating architectures (new product development roadmaps), and ensuring accuracy of information communicated to retail locations and the broader Merchandising Division.
Responsibilities
The Senior Analyst will be responsible for Assortment Analysis. S/he will propose, implement, and monitor baseline worldwide assortments and provide recommendations for changes and improvements to maximize sales and productivity. This individual will also identify regional trends and recommend assortment strategies in partnership with Global Merchandising Operations. S/he will analyze assortments by collection, classification and price point as directed to maximize productivity and project objectives, including year-end and quarterly reviews. This individual will support the development of reports and presentations for meetings and conferences, including collection trend reports, category-wide style reviews, competitive shopping analyses, and high-level view of new product introductions while partnering with Demand Management to ensure the appropriate ratio of assortment count to sales.
The Senior Analyst will be responsible for pricing. This individual will establish and implement gross margin reviews and pricing structure strategies to ensure gross margin requirements are met. S/he will conduct analysis and gather comparable product information to set retails for new and existing products, price new receipts when necessary, price custom design pricing requests, and resolve and submit off-cycle errors or discrepancies.
The Senior Analyst will be responsible for Lifecycle Management. This individual will conduct reviews to validate the assortment on a quarterly (or as needed) basis, and provide direction for merchandise requiring obsolescence management. S/he will also partner with cross-functional teams to establish strategies for managing overstock and aged inventory and ensure new product project milestones are met on a timely basis.
The Senior Analyst will be responsible for new product development. This individual will analyze product assortments such as collection, classification, price point and sales trends and make proposals for new merchandise based on findings. S/he will create and maintain architecture reports (product roadmaps) and key initiative image grids throughout various stages of development, ensuring accuracy of item detail. This individual will also partner with cross-functional partners to achieve assortment count and SKU productivity objectives. S/he will manage and ensure project team representation and provide updates on positioning, assortments, pricing and distribution strategies while managing communication flow of new product and assortment life-cycle planning information with cross-functional partners. This individual will also facilitate cross-functional reviews of new product architectures and ensure target cost, retail pricing, and gross margin objectives for new products are met.
The Senior Analyst will be responsible for cross-functional communication. This individual will communicate with both central and regional teams to address and support category assortments, discontinuations, reclasses, pricing and new product plans. S/he will partner with Global Merchandising Operations and Category Management teams to create and distribute product communications and partner with Marketing and Public Relations to maximize promotional support through product suggestions. This individual will also partner with Global Merchandising Operations and Retail branches to propose and coordinate SKU lists and ensure product availability and pricing accuracy for major and regional events, traveling collections, new store openings, and other strategic selling opportunities.
Additionally, the Senior Analyst will coordinate style-outs and product category reviews for various presentations. S/he will partner with work with cross-functional partners on visual directives and product adjacency projects as necessary. This individual will new product launch process milestones are met, as well as field branch inquiries and offer appropriate suggestions in a timely manner.

• Undergraduate College Degree
• Prior Merchandising or Retail experience, preferably in a luxury branded product
• Proven ability to lead others and function effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications
• Basic Gemstone knowledge; Graduate Gemologist a plus
• Overall industry knowledge for product category
• Prior Product Development experience
• Overall product development manufacturing process knowledge
• Complete working knowledge of Tiffany & Co. merchandise information systems
• Complete working knowledge of Tiffany & Co. Operations
