Overview
The Director - International Tax will report to the VP of Tax and serve the primary role of managing international tax matters including planning, compliance & reporting as well as providing integrated international tax support to the business. This role includes oversight of tax matters for retail, services and supply chain activities in 70+ jurisdictions.
Responsibilities
Identify strategies to maximize both P&L and cash tax savings in conjunction with new and existing business activities across all operations and all geographies. Partner closely with teams across the global organization to implement tax efficient business structures in the US and abroad. This includes, for example, alignment with supply chain planning initiatives, legal entity structuring and global financing alternatives.
Monitor global legislative updates to ensure readiness for tax reform as it relates to global tax considerations such as BEPS, international aspects of U.S. tax reform and similar developments. This includes timely review and discussion of proposals as well as the development & execution of strategies, as needed.
Partner closely with the Tax Consolidations team to ensure the tax implications of business structuring is reflected appropriately in both tax compliance filings as well as in the US GAAP financial statements filed with the SEC. This includes collaboration on tax accounting for structuring alternatives, determination of possible FIN 48 positions, as well as the reporting of transactions, as required, to the relevant tax authorities.
Review and analyze the U.S. international tax consequences of business transactions. This includes the development and support of the requisite tax accounting and compliance requirements as well as review of the foreign tax credit calculation and informational reporting forms required as part of the U.S. consolidated tax return.
Provide support to the Tax Consolidations and Transfer Pricing teams, as needed, for tax authority examinations.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree & at least 10 years of relevant experience in a Big 4 accounting firm and/or in house tax role at a multinational corporation.
• Proficiency in US International Tax Concepts required
• Compliance and reporting experience required
• Broad global tax experience required
• Demonstrate an eagerness to self-develop and explore new areas

• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to establish and build partnerships with different departments, business partners and management

• Masters in Taxation is a plus
