Description
The Executive Director, Corporate Strategy is a key leader in the Estée Lauder Companies’ Corporate Strategy team, which supports our senior executives in developing and executing key strategic initiatives across our dynamic brands, regions, and functions. This Executive Director will collaborate with our business leaders to create and facilitate the annual Corporate Strategy content and process, design and execute deployment of the strategy across the organization, and own meaningful projects from strategy to implementation. This highly visible position will enable a deep understanding of prestige beauty and the Estée Lauder Companies and will provide an enriching path to tremendous growth and future executive leadership roles.
Areas of responsibility will include:
• Partnering with senior leadership to identify, analyze, and accelerate strategies for growth
• Collaborating on key strategic initiatives across ELC’s brands, regions, and functions
• Managing complex projects and identifying connections and interdependencies across the company
• Assessing ELC’s business context across consumers, competitors, categories, channels, and geographies to update the Compass (10-year Strategic Plan) and Corporate Strategy (3-year Strategic Plan)
• Understanding and communicating insights on the impact of competitive industry movements on our business
• Developing insights and strategic perspectives on new opportunities, driving the analyses, presenting the results, and collaborating with teams to develop action plans
• Supporting Executive Leadership Team meetings, including shaping the group’s agenda and communicating with senior leaders
• Collaborating with Corporate Finance, Corporate Marketing, New Business Development, and other teams throughout the company to develop and execute strategic initiatives
• Supporting the recruitment, onboarding, growth, and development of team members
Qualifications
• At least 4 years of experience in strategy consulting or corporate development, with a passion for prestige consumer categories and appreciation and respect for creatively-driven industries
• Minimum of 10 years of total work experience, including formal team management and cross-functional project scoping and leadership to results and impact
• Advanced degree preferred, either MBA or other relevant graduate degree from a top-tier school
• Proactive, self-motivated leader with extremely well-developed interpersonal and influence skills; ability to independently manage strong working relationships across all levels and disciplines in the company, driving progress through influence
• Strong executive presence, business judgment, maturity, and empathy, with the ability to thrive in a project-based, collaborative team environment
• Dedicated to helping others achieve their goals; hold themselves accountable to meet their commitments
• Exceptional problem-solving skills
• Top-notch quantitative and analytical skills; ability to find structure, logic, and insight in complex business problems to provide meaningful conclusions and implied actions
• Ability to structure communication and analyses for a senior audience
• Strong track record of end-to-end project management capabilities
• Clear track record of people management and development and a passion for developing and coaching up-and-coming talent
