Director, Global Finance & Strategy, MAC
POSITION SUMMARY:
The role supports the Global Brand by delivering value-added business analysis and decision support, as well as helping to coordinate the annual planning and monthly performance management processes. The role works closely with the Global Consumer and Product Marketing functions developing business cases for major initiatives, as well as supporting the brand’s global retail tracking. Ad hoc project work supporting key brand priorities (e.g., new channels/markets, competitor reviews, process / profitability improvement efforts) forms an important part of the role.
A successful candidate must be naturally curious, self-motivated, and able to ‘connect the dots,’ understanding the impact of internal and external factors on the performance of the global business. Strong financial modeling and analytical skills are key, but must be matched by strong competency in communication and business partnering. The position requires working closely with colleagues at all levels and across multiple functions.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Develop insightful analysis utilizing a range of data (financial, marketplace, competition) in support of management decision making.
• Identify value creation opportunities via synthesis of consumer, distribution, category and competitor trends.
• Assist with monthly financial processes for the Brand; actual results review, rolling estimate, channel reporting, capital analysis.
• Support quarterly external reporting, including earnings releases and earnings call support information and Investor presentations.
• Annually, play lead role in financial support for the Strategy and Budget processes.
• Provide support for presentations to the brand and company senior management.
• Play liaison role with Corporate Finance functions (Operations Finance, Corporate FP&A, Accounting, Tax)
• Provide analytical and decision support for Global Brand special projects.
• Perform ad hoc business analysis in response to senior management requests.
Qualifications
• MBA with Finance/Strategy concentration, or equivalent professional experience coupled with undergraduate degree in accounting, economics, or finance.
• Ideal candidate has:
• 8+ years of experience in corporate finance, management consulting and/or investment banking.
• Experience in a global, matrixed organization. Fashion, Beauty and/or FMCG experience an added plus.
• A track record of demonstrated results in improving processes and developing financial analysis.
• Ability to work well in a dynamic and complex environment.
• Ability to manage multiple projects / priorities efficiently.
• Advanced PowerPoint, Excel and Business Case/DCF analytical skills; familiarity with SAP financial modules.
