Assistant Merchandiser - DKNY Dresses
Overview
The Assistant Merchandiser drives the product development & merchandising process for Dresses from initial design development through in-store delivery. The Associate Merchandiser works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that product is developed to meet sales needs and price point expectations; this includes review and follow-up on package styles from Asia as well as close partnership with the New York Sample Room.
Responsibilities
Product Development
• Create/maintain the seasonal line list in MSC by creating style numbers, entering new styles, color codes and materials, photographing show samples and modifying styles throughout edits to ensure updated information is distributed often and accurately
• Review cost breakdowns per style and work with Production team to ensure that costing is workable for our target price points.
• Manage proto and show samples by tracking and cataloguing samples for edits and market
• Coordinate outgoing and incoming packages with overseas offices
• Partner closely with New York sample room and Production team on product made In-House to ensure that fabric and style information is clear/organized and product gets costed correctly
Merchandising Analysis
• Provide team and upper management with information regarding prior seasons by creating seasonal bookings analyses, sell-thru reports, fall-out rate, and comparative costing charts to help merchandise and cost the upcoming line
• Provide essential details and information for costing the line by compiling price comparatives by fabrication and suggesting appropriate price tiers
• Provide seasonal line information by pulling style + sku counts, cost logs, and internal line lists
Sales/Retail, Production, and PR liaison
• Create and distribute line list memos to ensure the company has accurate, up-to-date information for all seasons
• Compile seasonal sell-thru reports and wish lists
• Prepare seasonal fabrics and color cards for international market in order to aid the international sales team
• Facilitate new sample requests during edits/market and ensure that as many styles/colorways are
represented in the showroom as possible
• Coordinate production of duplicate samples for both PR and Jamilco
Advise availability of samples and production details to Retail/Web team
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree
• 3+ years prior experience in merchandising role
• Special Skills: MSC and AS400, proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
