We are now seeking a talented Public Relations Manager to join the NET-A-PORTER Public Relations team.
Role purpose:
Key Responsibilities:
• Engage in building PR strategy, providing key insights, ideas and roadmaps to enhancing PR activities
• Provide strategic support to the PR Director
• Work alongside PR Manager
• Work closely with press teams in INTL and APAC to ensure consistency and synergy across all projects
• Promote NET-A-PORTER.com and its brands, campaigns, activities and events to the media in the United States, Canada and Latin/South America.
• Build on existing media relationships while creating new, senior-level contacts (both online and offline, long-lead and short-lead, trade and blogs) in all AM regions
• Mentor team talent, harnessing personal and career growth of PR Assistant, Coordinators and Freelancers/Interns as appropriate
• Monitor NET-A-PORTER.com brand placement/exposure, ensuring all communication and activity are on-brand
• Take lead on campaigns, creating target PR plans and unique press angles to further drive forth brand messages per initiative
• Identify key products, new designers and exclusive items and then develop and implement the best way to communicate this information to audiences in the United States and Canada
• Identify and manage executive positioning opportunities, including press, interviews, and speaker engagements
• Ensure that NET-A-PORTER.com as a brand and the designers stocked are represented correctly and consistently across all target media
• Proactively follow sales and sell thru reports each week on all brands and identify areas with Retail and Merchandising to be pushed out across media channels
• Partner closely with Marketing team to ensure that all PR messages are timely and consistent with Marketing activity
• Manage the creation and execution of press events and other relevant events in the United States and Canada
• Clear communication with internal departments on a weekly basis
• Oversee the drafting and dissemination of press materials to key editors (both online and offline)
• Closely monitor all daily/weekly/monthly activity and coverage by brand and report performance, identifying areas of growth and opportunity, creating a program to address
• Monitor and report on competitor activity and initiatives as well as relevant industry trends, events and opportunities in the United States and Canada to appropriate in-house teams
• Cultivate relationships with relevant US brand PRs
• Manage PR Executive
Skills and Experience:
• Graduate (or equivalent) with proven in house and/or agency PR experience
• Detail oriented
• Demonstrate understanding of the luxury fashion industry
• Proven commercial experience of working in a fast paced environment
• Proven track record of creating positive impact on business through PR and communications strategy
• Discreet, professional and well spoken, with excellent communication skills
• Extremely well-organized, methodical and efficient, with a good dose of common sense and initiative
• Ability to manage several employees and cultivate their growth within the organization
• Pro-active and able to show initiative/ideas to constantly promote NET-A-PORTER.com fashionable offering
• Creative and strategic thinker
• Strong presentation & superb writing skills
• Able to identify communication opportunities
• Strong MS Word skills; PowerPoint, Excel, Mac proficient
