POSITION OBJECTIVE
The Digital Analytics & Optimization team serves as the primary source for digital insights and testing. The team’s objectives are to explain business performance, identify customer behaviors and translate into insights and test hypothesis across all digital platforms. Additionally the team serves as a resource for cross-functional teams (KT, e-commerce, Marketing, Finance, and more) on all the above subject areas.
As part of the team the analyst will have multiple responsibilities including working on analytics requests from other teams, improving digital reporting, deep diving into customer behavior analytics and measuring ecom effectiveness.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Analytics Strategy & Innovation
• Support the analytics roadmap and strategy and help getting cross-functional alignment.
• Drive analytics evolution through new measurement approaches, building connections between multiple data sources or technological advancement.
• Together with the rest of the team lead lead process definition - Set & align direction, identify business goals and define business timelines and if necessary take part in business case development.
Analytics Insights & Activation
• Work on identification and resolution of critical business issues. Develop alternative solutions and discuss successful outcomes.
• Leverage analytics, promotion & advertising strategy, LY business results and competitive insights to explain business performance to cross-functional leaders and provide recommendations.
• Support development of a framework that allows a comprehensive view of the state of the e-commerce/omni-channel business.
• Identify customer behaviors and insights that can be leveraged for targeting and personalization and to inform business decisions.
• Apply statistical/mathematical models to answer more complex business questions.
• Become advocate for customer behavior and journey analysis
• Become a digital analytics subject matter expert.
Support & Training
• Co-manage the analytics request database and pro-actively respond to requests.
• Participate in open lab forum to help answer web analytics questions from business partners.
• Support ongoing web analytics associate training and development.
• Monitor and report on industry best practices, adapting key learnings to Kohls.com.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Excellent analytical skills: Ability to effectively break business questions into their key components, identify appropriate data sources and methodology for analysis and translate findings into actionable insights.
• Knowledge of mathematical/statistical models (causal impact, regression, decision tree i.e. random forest) and their application in a business setting; ability to fit a model to a business problem.
• Ability to work both independently and as a member of a cross-functional team on multiple concurrent projects.
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence and ability to interact with all levels of an organization.
• Strong Organizational and Planning Skills, ability to prioritize effectively, manages time well and balances short & long term goals & objectives.
• Practical experience using web analytics tools such as Adobe Analytics (Omniture) or Google Analytics and testing/optimization tools like Adobe Target, Optimizely or Maxymiser is a bonus.
• Knowledge of languages and programs like SQL, Python, R Statistics is a bonus.
• Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau is a bonus.
