Style Director, THE OUTNET

Responsibilities:
• To be the first point of contact for styling direction across THE OUTNET
• Develop and maintain the THE OUTNET Style Book as a tool for global teams to ensure styling is representative of THE OUTNET brand, relevant to the customer, trend and/or occasion.
• Oversee and direct seasonal fashion reports — including but not limited to runway, street style, beauty, casting, icons — to inform THE OUTNET’s editorial and styling direction. Partner with key business partners to maximise the usefulness of the reports and their influence across the business.
• Train and support globally based product styling teams to ensure a coherent, relevant and commercially viable brand message.
• Develop processes, workflows and systems to facilitate greater creativity autonomy while maintaining a clear direction across all teams.
• Partner with Creative Director and Editorial Director to implement a global view of styling, aligned to the key markets of the business, to ensure local relevance across all touchpoints.
• Partner with Buying Managers to ensure buys are best represented and communicated accurately across all touchpoints including editorial and product photography.
• Working closely with the Product Merchandising Team, have an understanding of weekly sales reports to aid the formulation of ideas and ensure that all content is both commercially and editorially viable.
• Evaluate and assess performance of product styling and PID selection in order to draw conclusions and strategic recommendations to the business relating to styling and/or PID selection.
Editorial:
• Stakeholder in planning and execution of editorial calendar, ensuring all key messages - including but not limited to trends, themes, pieces, designers, styling twists – are communicated in an engaging, relevant and timely manner across all touchpoints.
• Develop multi-layered, original and strong content and shoot ideas at the beginning of each season and continuously throughout season – ensuring ample product selection and sufficient depth.
• Team-up with writers to ensure that written and visual content of stories are consistent, compatible and accurate. Work with Work with Editorial Director and Content Editor to provide direction to provide direction for ‘style tips’ and other styling-related copy.
• Oversee and provide styling direction for editorial content including outfit checks and signoff.
• Support influencer strategy with strategic recommendations for the programme and/or content within.
Events
• Styling lead on all Press and Marketing events; defining the fashion story to ensure maximum relevance to the target audience in partnership with PR and/or Brand Marketing teams.
Own Label:
• Key stakeholder in creative process through ideation to production of each collection, working in collaboration with merchandisers and buyers both in UK and Italy
• Creative and branding consultant on the range, supporting the team in Italy with the development of the collections.
• Lead stylist on Iris & Ink seasonal lookbook – currently 2x shoots per year.
• Lead stylist on Iris & Ink seasonal campaigns – currently 2x shoots per year.
Advertising Campaign:
• Key stakeholder in creative process through ideation to production, working in collaboration with senior creative stakeholders
• Lead stylist on THE OUTNET seasonal campaigns – currently 2x shoots per year
Social Media;
• Collaborate with Social Media Manager to ensure styling and fashion messaging is coherent and on-brand; optimised to platform and/or audiences; and aligned with seasonal messaging Management:
• Report directly to the Creative Director
• Line manager for Fashion Editor, Senior Fashion Assistant, Fashion Assistant and Fashion Intern
• Attend Creative Team Heads meetings and be a senior stakeholder in the team
General:
• Guardian of THE OUTNET brand identity across all channels.
• Senior creative stakeholder in all quarterly projects and/or additional projects as-when required.
• Manage and develop relationships with external agencies, such as model agencies, photographic agencies and talent agencies.
• Represent the team in sales meetings and any other internal meetings as required.
