Role Summary:
Reporting to the Manager, E-Commerce - Dynamite, the Web Designer is responsible for supporting the graphic team in creating graphics and layouts for both Dynamite and Garage and all other web-based elements, (email marketing, banners, etc.) ensuring design elements are on-brand at all times. The Web Designer must be knowledgeable about mobile design, and UI and UX design practices. The Web Designer will actively participate in brainstorm sessions with the Marketing Creative Team to ensure E-commerce best design practice is represented. The Web Designer will ensure that the customer has a seamless omni-channel experience by aligning on in-store creative concepts and applying to all web based creative concepts. The Web Designer develops functional, user-friendly and engaging experiences for our customers, being involved in every aspect of the design process as well as supporting the team with creative graphic ideas. This specialist must be creative, highly organized and work well under pressure.
Main Responsibilities:
• Creates web-based graphics and layouts for existing website, email marketing, online content features, banners and landing pages. Ensures that all material is available per established deadlines. Must have a “mobile first” approach with designing initiatives;
• Designs and conceptualizes product guides and lookbooks for E-commerce site (mobile and desktop);
• Manages and performs day-to-day site design and creation;
• Prepares mock-ups, final artwork or test layout/pages as needed for internal presentations and approvals;
• Participates in brainstorm sessions with Marketing Creative team and creates seasonal campaign concepts for web through photo shoot ideas, fonts and design elements that challenge the status quo;
• Liaises with the Marketing Graphic Designers to obtain graphics used in promotional materials, in-store POP materials, etc., ensuring web-based creative concepts are constantly aligned with vision of the brand;
• Collaborates with internal teams to ensure consistent content delivery;
• Produces creative marketing materials in relation to E-commerce including: packaging, brochures, coupons, online booklets, etc.;
• Ensures that all work activities are performed effectively, within time and budget parameters, and according to quality standards.
Qualifications and Competencies:
• College diploma in graphic design/web design or related experience;
• At least five year of related work experience;
• Extensive knowledge of the MAC or PC: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign;
• Knowledge of UI and UX Mobile design, and layout strategy;
• Understanding of A/B multivariate testing and optimization technologies;
• Ability to conceive and design solutions for web projects with strong conceptual development, visualization and typography skills;
• Online portfolio that showcases broad Web Design experience, innovation and strong knowledge of design principles;
• Knowledge of HTML/CSS;
• A team player with strong communication skills;
• An understanding and interest in emerging technologies and “mobile first” adoption;
• A team player with a positive attitude and an entrepreneurial spirit;
• Ability to meet tight deadlines;
• Knowledge and interest of the retail fashion industry is an asset;
• Bilingualism (French and English).
