Description
Position Summary:
Lead Retail Education and training strategies to support Aveda’s regional initiatives across channels in salons, free-standing stores, Institutes and department stores.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with Global Education to develop and implement retail training programs to support all aspects of sales, including customer service, sales behaviors and coaching across channels that will drive exceptional sales growth in North America
• Provide strategic direction and leadership to the North America Retail Education team
• Partner with VP Retail and Education team to plan and execute events that drive sales growth
• Update existing retail training programs for NA channels to focus on Aveda experience, customer service, product knowledge and selling skills
• Coordinate the usage of Aveda’s free-standing store network (through the VP Retail) as a nerve center for the brand: to provide training, eventing, and meet & greets across channels – create a place to Learn, Play, Connect
• Establish efficient communication channels between Retail Education and Sales to ensure awareness of retail training schedule (who, what, where, when) and conduct follow up as needed
• Conduct market reviews to understand retail trends within the competitive business landscape and make recommendations for North America
• Constantly scout for new retail trends inside and outside of the industry, inspire management with insights to leapfrog and adjust for success
• Provide regular reports regarding the status of Retail Education programs to senior leadership including reporting on ROI of Retail Education (number of advisors touched, frequency, sales results, etc.)
• Develop benchmarks and best practices for Retail Education team
• Manage P&L for Retail Education team
• Provide and regularly update territories and routing definition to Retail Education Managers for maximum efficiency and striking power of the retail education team in collaboration with Regional Executive Directors
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Experience:
8 years field/advanced education experience, extensive retail experience required
Other:
• Must possess extensive retail experience, including deep understanding and prior working experience on the retail sales floor
• Demonstrated ability to train others in strategies to “make retail successful”
• Ability to think in an omni-channel environment across retail channels, including free-standing stores, department stores, salons and specialty-multi locations
• Extensive training and public speaking experience including classroom or workshop courses for retail division or product manufacturer
• Demonstrated ability to design and execute retail training plans that drive sales results to a diverse audience
• Demonstrated proficiency in learner-centered training methodology
• Proficiency in customer service and business operations
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage highly creative teams
• An entrepreneurial spirit including the ability to make decisions as if the business were one’s own
• Must possess a valid driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance
• Ability to travel, lift up to 30 pounds on an occasional basis and transport own luggage while traveling
