Job Description:
The ideal candidate will report to the Director of Product Development. The Candidate should demonstrate knowledge in fabric research, apparel manufacturing as well as production concepts, practices and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to accomplish departmental goals. Individual will partner closely with pre-production, design, production, outside vendors and/or factories to complete tasks at hand.
Duties:
• Provide support in all areas related to fabric & sample development. Maintain company calendar deadlines.
• Ensures deadlines are met for delivery of development and SMS (duplication) samples
• Responsible for all phases of product development cycle from the initial concept and design of the product through protos and Salesmen Samples
• Utilizes Company Systems (PLM) for all component and garment development
• Maintains and Utilizes Cost Matrices to ensure development fits into Financial targets
• Collaborates on sourcing and QA/QC strategies with design, Merchandising, and Supply Chain
• Acts as a liaison between design and production to ensure smooth product distribution and customer satisfaction
• Collaborates with design team to ensure wash and fabric aesthetic is achieved
• Ensures duplicate lines are processed according to standard
• Works closely with production team assuring a reduction in production timelines
• Communicates key information regarding raw materials and garments to Design, Merchandising, and Supply chain at calendar milestone integration points
• Any and all duties, projects, or tasks as assigned
Skills/Qualifications:
• A minimum of 5 years prior product development experience
• Ability to work in a fast paced, high performance environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and accountability
• Exceptional follow-up skills and ability to analyze work load and plan accordingly
• Ability to maintain good vendor/supplier relationships
