Vice President, International
After 40 years in the fashion business, Groupe Dynamite Inc. has successfully launched some of the most recognizable fashion brands in Montreal, Quebec. The Company operates over 400 stores from coast to coast in Canada, the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, with more than 6,000 employees.
Based out of our Montreal Head Office located at 5592 Ferrier Street, Town of Mount Royal, H4P 1M2, this permanent position of Vice-President, International, reports to the Chief Financial and Development Officer.
As the Vice President, International, your key areas of responsibility will include, without restriction:
Business Development Strategy
• Develop a strategy pertaining to overall international development of our brands and create a roadmap and timeline for assessing countries, in relevant sections of the world;
• Actively visit potential markets and realistically assess the business potential, deliverables, and time frame for entry;
• Create a comprehensive business plan identifying investments required, projected sales and operating income, and return on investment for each potential country/region.
Operations
• Ensure successful delivery of International’s expansion strategy deliverables and profit targets by leading and partnering with all departments of the Company, including: Merchandising, Planning and Allocation, Production and Sourcing, Store Operations, Logistics, Marketing, Finance, Legal, HR and IT functions while also meeting the country’s/region’s legal and regulatory requirements;
• Develop annual budgets to include store openings, sales and income for each international country;
• Ensure brand integrity is maintained across franchised, licensed or non-American corporate stores and geographies;
• Work with partners to create appropriate retail environments and ensure execution of all visual standards;
• Create business development plans for the execution of store development and expansion programs and review all proposed locations for retail partnerships;
• Partner with the Planning and Inventory Management teams around planning, buying plans, order management, allocations, sales tracking and analysis;
• Work with Product Development and Merchandising to ensure appropriate product assortments, investments, and flow;
• Participate in product line meetings and established merchandise offerings for each market;
• Develop and implement training requirements for Franchisees/Licensees and Distributors;
• Report regularly on key business activities including market, category and competitor performance;
• Apply a rigorous customer-focused discipline, participate in the development of new and innovative sales and marketing initiatives to drive customer growth, increase share of market and improve gross margins;
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key partners and customers;
• Perform general management functions including budgeting and expense management, objective-setting and alignment, performance appraisal, staff development, etc.
Based on the evolution of the Company and other business needs, your key areas of responsibility may change from time to time.
COMPENSATION:
Salary range: $225,000 to $315,000 depending on experience and related qualifications;
Bonus as per company’s policy at 50%;
Comprehensive and complete benefits program, including medical and dental coverage, life insurance and an employer portion contribution to RRSPs at 8% according to Groupe Dynamite policy;
This salary is based on a 35-hour week, day shifts.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business/Economics or related field;
• Master’s degree in International Business or related field, an asset;
• Minimum of 20 years of extensive business development experience with P&L responsibility and experience managing a multi-site Franchise model in a global market context;
• Specific experience in KSA, Kuwait, U.A.E, European and South American markets;
• Experience in a large-scale global organization servicing multiple countries is important in the context of Groupe Dynamite’s market footprint and future expansion plans;
• Proven track record of driving innovative and profitable merchandising strategies that drive bottom line results while also meeting a customer-centric vision;
• Strong communication skills at building both internal and external relationships;
• Self-starter, entrepreneurial, efficient, and extremely driven to achieve results;
• Motivated by milestones and can thrive in a dynamic and changing environment;
• Significant level of maturity and the ability to work in a collaborative fashion with various stakeholders;
• Reliable, with relevant experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals;
• Maintains a professional demeanor that inspires trust and respect;
• English required and French an asset.
