The Clinical Testing Department manages a large volume of studies, internal and external, and consists of a large team to manage.
Responsibilities include:
• Leading and managing a 15+ member team of clinical scientists
• Developing talents and assessing performance

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Leadership- Provide leadership in building and supporting claims testing strategies across all brands. Lead and develop the Clinical Testing team of scientists to provide unsurpassed clinical support on claims/demos/visuals to assure integrity and innovation of our claims.
Decision Making - These decisions impact new product launch dates, primary and secondary copy dates, company spending for new technologies. oor decisions on claims testing could result in missed deadlines for product launches, unnecessary internal budget spending as well as wasted company dollars on ineffective technology. Incorrect wording on claims copy causes legal implications for Estee Lauder Companies.
Independence of Action and Accountability – This position sets and influences the business strategy for the team. The primary goal for the Clinical Testing Department is to ensure product efficacy and provide adequate support for any claims. Any decisions made or business strategies must exist for this endpoint. Such decisions related to the business processes are regularly made independently without the need to consult the supervisor.
Problem Solving – The most frequent type of problem/issue encountered in this position involves managing the volume of testing that needs to be completed with limited resources and limited time. When timing is crucial and every study is a priority, it is a challenge to complete the necessary studies and provide timely results without sacrificing the integrity of that study. Innovative planning is always needed to schedule so many studies without sacrificing quality. Complexity is increased when managing the high demand for all claims to be tested globally and developing and validating claims to be competitive with other leading brands. Claims testing is the last step in the development of new products and often results in extremely tight time lines. Each challenge which arises may be unique and key priorities must be recognized.
