Junior Designer - Going Out Dresses | London | ASOS Careers
Want to see your designs worn by millions? Here at ASOS we are looking for someone with a passion for going out dresses to join our growing design team! You could be a part of the team responsible for designing our future tailored fashion ranges for our 20-something customers. If you love fashion design, researching the latest trends and want to be part of a fast-paced fashion forward design team this could be the opportunity for you.
What you’ll be doing...
• Researching, developing and designing a core jersey dress range including identifying key shapes for the season, good fabric knowledge and building a range which offers choice for our ‘Going Out’ customer.
• Reacting to sales information and design commercially relevant fashion forward ranges.
• To research current and future trends by a collection of different sources in order to continuously improve and develop the ASOS collection.
• Sourcing new fabrications, techniques and trimmings. Good knowledge of fabric and fabric mills.
• Working closely with in-house buying teams, alongside a senior designer – researching, developing and creating end product, each season.
• Working with the technical team on fits on a weekly basis. Identifying and helping create new silhouette blocks for the department.
• Building relations with suppliers and advising factories on direction, silhouette, construction, key details, fabrics, trimmings and artworks. Development trips required.
We’d love to meet someone with…
• Previous experience in designing for an Aspirational Brand or similar High Street Retailer
• Previous experience working with Jersey essential
• Previous experience of direct sourcing from fabric mills
• Strong commercial handwriting and understanding of the ASOS Brand and Customer
• Computer Skills: Photoshop, Adobe, CAD
• Fashion forward
• Responsible for individuals’ time management
• Willingness to Travel in the UK for Supplier meetings and Inspirational purposes. International development travel.
