Description
Working under the guidance of the corporate heads of TR/Sampling/Bath & Body/Fragrance categories to bring innovation, creativity and design thinking to the category through innovative packaging, delivery systems and emerging technologies. Take an active role in the ideation process by providing inspiration through sketches, proof of principle mock ups, high level renderings and prototype models of concepts and innovations conceived by the TR/Sampling/Bath & Body/Fragrance teams. Drive excellence in execution by inspiring outside resources and partners with guidance, creativity and a mission focused attention to detail thus delivering net extra TR/Sampling/Bath & Body/Fragrance products worthy of being Estee Lauder.
Project Responsibilities
• Utilizing your design skills capture concepts and ideas through 2D sketches and 3D printed models and mock ups
• Investigate specific packaging and design trends at the direction of management.
• Create world class presentation renderings to capture designs and product concepts for presentation to senior management.
• Seek out trends that directly or indirectly impact TR/Sampling/Bath & Body/Fragrance and personal care creating net extra opportunities.
• Utilizing your digital design and engineering skills create 3D files facilitating appearance and working prototype models
• Do initial research on patentable ideas and liaise with the patent group on patent applications and strategy
• Contribute to Idea generation
Capabilities
• Basic engineering Skills
• Bring environmentally responsible design solutions to the team by considering materials and processes in the early stages of the design process offering up a positive environmental foot print.
• Direct suppliers and technology companies from inside and outside the industry on ideas and concepts under the direction of management.
• Take on an active role in innovation meetings utilizing “Design Thinking” as a key driver in creating net extra opportunities in TR/Sampling/Bath & Body/Fragrance categories.
• Meet with industry suppliers to understand the current landscape in packaging, delivery systems, technologies and materials.
• Search publications and digital media for product trends, design excellence, technologies and industry breakthroughs.
• Prepare and deliver presentations to senior management involving new product opportunities and design solutions.
• Understanding of packaging components and function
Innovation and Networking
• Attend trade shows and exhibitions inside as well as outside the beauty industry to stay current on emerging trends and technologies.
• Network through trade organizations and design forums to stay abreast of trends and technology breakthroughs in the consumer products arena.
• Engage and participate in corporate enrichment programs built around our beauty business thus building your knowledge base and insights into beauty to support and build innovation sufficiency.
• Build alliances with counterparts in the corporate innovation group to facilitate cross seeding of ideas and opportunities
Qualifications
Bachelor of Fine Arts, Product Design
Minimum 5 years of experience
Must be proficient in Solid Works, Rhinoceros, Auto CAD, Key Shot, All Adobe Suites, All Microsoft Office,
