Job Description:
As the Digital Product Copy Manager, based at Converse WHQ in Boston, we want you to convey compelling seasonal product stories with copy, for use by our global sales teams and online retail partners. As leader of the digital product copywriting team, you’ll be a key player on our newly formed digital content creation team. We need someone with an entrepreneurial mindset and a desire to write (and rewrite) the playbook as we go. The work will be challenging, never boring, and we expect you’ll be an integral part of the team creating and bringing new digital experiences and solutions to the Converse brand.
Accountability:
• Tell compelling product stories through copy, for use by our global sales teams, Converse.net, and by our online retail partners
• Drive a consistent and authentic voice globally, aligned to Converse brand standards
• Lead and develop a team of team of talented, product-obsessed, internal/external copywriters
• Foster internal partnerships, including teams in product, merchandising, and marketing, in order tell the story around key product initiatives
• Develop deep knowledge of our product composition, features, and benefits
• Collaborate with brand, digital production, and geography teams to ensure all objectives and timelines are met
• Actively gain knowledge and experience on Converse’s copy philosophy, products and processes, trends, the consumer and overall marketplace culture.
Qualifications
• Bachelor of Arts in Writing, Communications, Journalism or a related field.
• 5+ years' writing experience in a corporate or agency environment required, preferably as a copywriter for a major brand, e-commerce company or digital design agency
• Creative, bold, and digitally savvy
• Expert command of the English language (including spelling, grammar, punctuation)
• Experience writing compelling and creative email, editorial and other online marketing material.
• Must be a self-starter, comfortable working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment, organized, collaborative and flexible
• Knowledge of footwear and/or apparel design construction and terminology a plus
• Detail oriented.
• Ability to manage multiple and competing work priorities, demands and changes
• Creative thinking and problem solving
• Retail, catalog or search-engine-related experience a plus
• A genuine passion for digital marketing and the online space
