Overview
The Technical Designer, Creative Visual Merchandising is a skilled project leader who will be responsible for taking approved creative design concepts and turning them into producible rollout creatives for global creative vehicle programs including Show Windows and in-store creatives.
Responsibilities
The Technical Designer will be a project leader where s/he will partner heavily with the Production team to liaise with vendors regarding sampling and rollout of creatives. This individual will be the point person/project lead regarding campaign status and the presentation of prototypes to internal leadership. S/he will be aware of budgets/timelines and cost efficiencies. In addition, s/he will collaborate with CVM Studio manager/Studio team/Signage & Graphics team on deliverables.
The Technical Designer will be responsible for populating technical design specs and ensuring on time pass off of files to production for vendor prototypes and final production. S/he will ensure ease of installation for CVM regional team while focused on product placement and considering lighting. S/he will partner with communications team to create and distribute communications decks for vendors and global team as well as the pass off of the creative overview with the CVM designer. S/he will adhere to production timeline.
The Technical Designer will collaborate with others by attending meetings to cross functionally review and present creative rollout. S/he will partner with CVM communications team to assist with directive shoots, attend calls and creative reviews.
The Technical Designer will support research and development by proactively exploring new techniques and innovative materials, market trends, historic and brand references. When needed, s/he will travel to vendor factories both domestic and international to review production to ensure design intent and high quality standards are being maintained.
The Technical Designer will be a team player by participating in special projects, including Flagship installations and executive windows as business needs arise.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
• A college degree in Set Design/Visual Merchandising and/or related field.
• Creative background with 5+ years of design experience.
• Complete proficiency in Adobe Suite/InDesign/Photoshop/Illustrator and Microsoft Office, knowledge of CAD.
• Excellent organization and communication skills.
• Talented and inspired with a strong attention to detail.
• Team player; ability to work in a team setting is vital.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in luxury fashion or jewelry retail.
• Proficient in CAD.
• Model Building experience.
