Executive Director, Global Store Visual Merchandising Design, Too Faced
Description
Position Summary
The Executive Director, Global Store & Visual Merchandising Design is responsible for provide leadership and innovation in the conceptualization, coordination, design, planning and successful execution of all Store Design and Visual Merchandising elements regarding launches and promotions both domestically and internationally. The position will ensure that Visual Merchandising guidelines are consistent with the Too Faced brand and address the marketing strategies and financial goals.
This position is based in Too Faced Corporate Headquarters located in Irvine, CA.
Responsibilities
Store Design
• Design and planning of all store design installations including communication with (Marketing, Sales, Education, Product Development, and Creative departments), retailers and internal merchandising teams.
• Manage store design workflow. Ensure all projects are prepared for approval, coordinating with key stakeholders to allow input on plans on a timely basis.
• Ensure brand design standards are communicated and updated to corporate store design team. Input on cost reduction and design detail value engineering is desired.
• Maintain working relationship with all internal and external groups. Awareness of retailer processes, restrictions, approval processes and schedules.
Visual Merchandising
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners (Marketing, Sales, Education, Product Development, and Creative departments) to have visibility to the global brand strategy while understanding the regional nuances of each region.
• Concept and execution of visual merchandising initiatives, overseeing phases of projects, collaborate with vendors on new projects and partner with Creative design teams on creative execution.
• Demonstrate an understanding of materials, costs, and time requirements on projects. Resolve issues of function, performance, manufacturing, cost and scheduling during design development and production phases of projects.
• Continue to develop merchandising guidelines for on going seasonal programs to communicate execution in the field. Spend time at the point of sale with the design teams, sales field, and consultants to develop a better understanding of challenges, actual site conditions and have a proper understanding of the customer experience.
• Maintain awareness of current trends in visual arts and merchandising, global travel as necessary, and complete in-store site visits to observe counters in action and/or approve production, research trends and materials. Elevate execution and maintain brand expectations.
• Maintain working relationship with all internal and external groups. Awareness of retailer processes, restrictions, approval processes and schedules.
• Provide leadership to team within Visual Merchandising for all channels – Continue building out a strong talent to meet the future demands of the business, prioritize goals, provide guidance and development for team, and create cohesive working relationships company-wide.
Qualifications
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor of Science or Fine Arts preferred
• 10+ years of prestige color cosmetics experience; Minimum 7 years of experience in retail environments (Department and Free Standing Stores).
• Good visual awareness, creative ability and driver of innovation
• Position requires leadership skills and project management skills; ability to execute under accelerated timeframes and quickly adapts to change in priorities; must be able to follow projects from inception to completion.
• Work independently and successfully communicate and engage with Marketing, Sales, Product Development, and Creative departments.
• Excellent communication, organizational and presentation skills.
• Proven leadership skills to hire, develop and retain top talent.
• Knowledge of Design software: Illustrator, Adobe Creative Cloud, AutoCAD.
