Director of Planning - Clinique
Description
1. Plan and deliver the Net Sales Plan and inventory management through the monthly management of revenue and the allocation of resources related to the distribution of saleable and non-saleable goods.
2. Drive the Canadian brand category mix planning and performance, retailer performance and other key metrics.
3. Collaborate with Marketing to develop and execute the strategic, long-range plan for Promotions
4. Build sales objectives for marketing by category and sub-category for new launches and basic skus and manage the execution of those objectives through detailed retailer sales planning and the optimal allocation of saleable and non-saleable goods.
5. Assist the Brand Manager and Director of Marketing in sales and market planning activities in Canada. Establish strategic partnerships and work collaboratively with Canada Retail Partners and Clinique Corporate Directors.
6. Lead and develop capabilities of direct reports and in-direct reports on our office team.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Management of allocation of saleable launch forecasts in conjunction with Operations Executive.
• Work closely with Canadian Marketing team to ensure programs are allocated & forecasted based on brand strategies.
• Lead forecasting process for all saleable and promotional launches / programs Responsible for Field Communication and support on all information pertaining to; discontinued items, seasonal order forms, new product launches including shipping, support elements, delays, prepacks etc.
• Analyze sales of new product launches, promotional programs to drive sell thru and provide feedback and guidance to the team.
• Work with brand and retailer teams to determine assortments by store groupings.
• In conjunction with Multi functional team deliver fiscal year financial objectives including:
◦ Develop, implement, and deliver Fiscal Sales plans in both shipments and sales (net & retail) .
◦ Management of the monthly net/retail sales estimates
◦ Management of the retailer net sales (gross and returns) and retail sales plans.
◦ Drive monthly ship, returns and sales estimates in partnership with Finance Manager
• Drive net sales achievement by guiding the Planning team on optimal planning and allocation, by door, of basic goods, new launches, promotions, collateral and samples. Collaborate regularly with the Field to identify sales opportunities.
• Responsible for the Planning team’s development of managing the Seasonal Stock and Sales plans with the Retailer to maximize shipment performance.
• Responsible for guiding the NYO Supply Chain on the Canadian market anticipated needs in demand, based on sales trends and upcoming marketing programs.
• Responsible for securing appropriate allocations on GWPs, PWPs, Holiday, etc. to maximize Account Sales Plans while maintaining and managing the Fiscal promotional penetration plan.
• Attend monthly consensus meetings with counterparts in marketing, demand planning and supply and highlight risks and opportunities to the plan.
• Responsible for the operations of new door openings and existing distribution
Qualifications
• Post-Secondary Degree required + Minimum 8 years of relevant working experience
• Strong leadership skills and ability to manage and develop an Operations team
• Ability to collaborate with strong negotiation skills
• Highly detail oriented and proactive
• Ability to think strategically and creatively and conceptualize and implement new ideas
• Strong financial and analytical skills
• Strong communication and relationship management skills and a comfort with regular visibility to senior management
• Strong problem solving capabilities, good judgment and ability to work independently
• Strong MS Excel skills and solid knowledge of Powerpoint
