Director Field Sales (East Region, Based in Toronto) - Clinique
Description
To achieve and/or exceed the company sales plan. This is accomplished through: Effective execution of Estee Lauder account strategy; Selection, development, and retention of direct reports; and Account management at the store group level.
Responsible for the selection, development, and retention of direct reports.
•Selects talented Account Executives and fills open positions in a timely manner.
•Manages orientation process of all direct reports.
•Executes development plans resulting in the measurable improvement of direct report’s performance.
•Evaluates employee’s performance mid-year and annually in a timely fashion.
•Resolves employee performance issues in accordance with company policy.
•Fosters productive working relationships resulting in the retention of highly talented and skilled employees
•Coaches and develops direct reports to achieve company’s expectations.
•Weekly touch base with all direct reports to follow up on results.
Leads execution of account strategies to achieve sales goal.
•Communicates clear goals and objectives to employees on a regular basis. Sets priorities for employees aligned with account strategy.
•Works with Account Executive to establish retail sales plan and collaborates with Regional Education Director to ensure action plans align with account strategy.
•Evaluates results of action plan and adjusts accordingly in order to achieve and/or exceed sales plan.
•Leads Special Events program which includes, but is not limited to, reinforcement of the strategic direction of Special Events; management of ABAs budget; ensuring proper allocation of ABAs coverage.
•Provides Brand Manager Sales plan recommendations, and feedback in the creation and execution of account strategies, i.e., competitive needs, construction needs, market analysis, etc.
•Manages assigned budget lines responsibly.
•Completes administrative duties in a timely and accurate manner.
•Leads Visual Merchandising execution which includes, but is not limited to, teaching and reinforcing New York guidelines with Account Executives and setting expectations for execution with store management.
•Responsible for approving the accuracy of Retailer salary subsidy charge backs on monthly basis.
•Responsible for maximizing Beauty Advisor productivity through the development of Account Executives point of sales strategy.
•Leads the seasonal/annual development of staffing profiles in partnership with the Retailer demonstration department.
•Develops point of sales strategies for news launches and seasonal programs with Brand Manager and works closely with Education, Marketing and Sales Operations Directors.
Relationship with store group management.
•Secures support needed from store group management (i.e. DM, RMM, Buyer, Visual Management, etc.) in order to execute account strategy and market calendar.
•Executes assigned retailer meetings (such as, Summit, State of the Region).
•Works closely with central staffing on schedules and productivity of Estee Lauder Beauty Advisors .
•Monthly or weekly touch base with Retailer’s buyer
•Monthly or weekly touch base with Account Regional Cosmetic Director ( where position is existing)
•Business review with stores (Focus and Flagship doors) once a season.
Qualifications
• Post-secondary education required.
• The candidate should have 6-8 years of relevant experience in sales or education, along with management/supervisory experience.
• Candidates must have strong leadership and management skills demonstrated by talent and consistent positive sales results.
• The ability to collaborate and achieve consensus with other groups is imperative.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential.
