Overview
To direct and improve upon the Company’s reporting and close processes, as well as to serve as the primary point of contact for all aspects impacting the general ledger in the Company’s ERP system.
Responsibilities
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close to produce income statement and balance sheet in accordance with US GAAP for SEC 10-Q and 10-K filings,
• Development and the preparation of internal financial reports; assist with preparation of monthly financial statements including comparison of actual results to budget and prior period; respond to other department managers regarding financial results
• Review income statement and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the financial statements and apply analytical skills to identify, research, and document significant changes in balances.
• Act as subject matter expert for general ledger in Oracle ERP
• Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and processes to enhance the workflow of the department; provide guidance to accounting staff on processes and procedures
• Liaison with the Company’s external auditors.
• Maintain the financial reporting and general ledger structure. assist in the development and implementation of internal controls
• Assist in budget development and forecast updates as required
• Team player, willing to assist other members of the department and across departments as needed and flexibility to complete special projects.
• Assist North American Controller on ad-hoc reporting and special projects
Qualifications
• 10-12 years of accounting operations experience with a blend of public accounting and industry experience preferred. Minimum 3 years’ experience leading a team required.
• CPA required
Job Skills
• Hands-on experience managing consolidations and the monthly/quarterly accounting close process.
• Strong technical knowledge of accounting (i.e., GAAP), SEC rules and requirements, knowledge of foreign currency ledgers, understanding and application of ASC 830
• Strong knowledge of internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, with experience in a public-company environment.
• Experience with one or more financial ERP/general ledger systems, Oracle preferred and strong systems skills to include Excel and Hyperion (HFM). Stronger consideration for those that already know Oracle and HFM.
• International and/or large corporate accounting experience in a public company a plus.
• A proven leader in training; a proactive leader and effective coach committed to the development and engagement of their team.
• Ability to build relationships, a good listener with outstanding interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work under time constraints. Strong analytical skills.
• Independent/flexible problem-solver with ability to positively cope with change.
Education
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent major is required; CPA required.
