Overview
Deliver aesthetically correct samples that meet Design’s vision while supporting Design’s needs and business requirements. Position also requires creating and maintaining files and reports. Understand the Home Time & Action calendar and maintain meeting dates to meet department objectives.
Responsibilities
Product Development
• Meet calendar deadlines measured by seasonal calendar actualization. Responsible to maintain calendar actualization report.
• Improve adoption rates over specific time and hit approved line plan style count measured by seasonal line plan actualization. Responsible to maintain line plan actualization report.
• Maintain the Sample Room and Allocation Plan report.
•Review the weekly PD WIP reports sent from overseas agents to ensure all sample orders are on time and new orders are added to the report each week.
•Order and track shipment of requested photo/press samples ordered upon product approval.
•Provide weekly updates to cross-functional teams on sample status. Communicate delays to manager and cross functional teams. Weekly conference call with vendors.
•Analyze approval timing to ensure the process is efficient—look for places to improve.
Costing
•Gather costing information and ensure costing report is updated and accurate
•Work on price bucket targets for allocations purposes with management
•Develop an understanding of raw material costing for product development and negotiation purposes.
Sourcing
•Manage the product development time & action calendars in the system –identify exceptions to manager and offer solutions
•Monitor development information to ensure that costs and production parameters fall within reasonable standards for the brand.
•Become knowledgeable of Domestic and Global Lighting & Décor Sourcing.
•Maintain all development reporting requirements including line plan analysis, calendar actualization & developed vs booked reports. Use information to improve process for future seasons.
TOP Approvals & Customs Line Review
•Ensure TOP samples sent by vendors and are approved when required prior shipment due date.
•Ensure that factories have all labels in a timely manner and handle any price ticket issues.
•Ensure Customer line review is complete in review with import.
Product Information sheet
• Monitor flow of product info sheets, ensuring timely completion and submission.
• Communicate Knock down instructions sheets with Metro.
Qualifications
• 2 plus years of experience in a Sourcing/Product development/Production role.
• Management and communication skills to work effectively with merchants and vendors
• Work with cross-functional teams.
• Problem predicting and problem solving skills that allow for a proactive approach to the business
• Adapt quickly to changes.
• Proficient in Microsoft’s Excel.
• Organizational skills necessary to handle multiple tasks and reports and complete them within deadlines.
• Driven by deadlines with a high sense of urgency.
• Ability to think analytically and plan strategically to the needs of the business
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion, Business, or a related field.
