Bumble and bumble is a fast-growing, luxury hair care brand located in NYC. It started as an NYC salon and evolved into a multi-million dollar brand comprised of 2 salons, a product company that houses a strong in-house creative agency, a direct sales force, and a university for hairdressers and salon owners.

Position Summary:
In this ever evolving position, the Director, Social Media and Digital Marketing will develop an over-arching brand strategy for social media and digital marketing across all brand and partner social platforms to build Bumble and bumble’s awareness, engagement and advocacy with consumers. The strategy will link with other touch point owners (e.g., Product Marketing, Global Communications +PR, E-Comm, In Store) to deliver consistency and coherency in the approach to consumers providing a fully integrated approach to all facets of the brand. Strong ability to interpret and translate global brand strategies and equity into programs appropriate for social media is required. The role will manage the overall strategy of paid and organic social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, Pinterest) in collaboration from the Executive Director of global consumer engagement.
The Director will develop coherent ongoing communication strategies across channels, oversee channel communities with collaboration of the Assistant Manager Social Media and Manager of Digital Marketing as well as drive key 360 initiatives in the social space (e.g., key product launch or brand campaigns). In building these strategies, this leader will leverage brand DNA and assets, consumer trends, new technologies, best practices, and innovation from the social media landscape. Strategy will be executed in North America and coordinated/led with International markets.
Responsibilities:
• Manage overall social media and content calendar for the brand and execute against it, including developing content concepts from idea to completion. Work with the team developing social media concepts and content that meet communication goals.
• Forge through new ideas, new programs and new ways of communicating with the consumer via compelling yet targeted content to ultimately engage them and inspire them to become brand advocates, while adhering to corporate guidelines and legal requirements; Create engaging content across platforms, including researching, writing, editing, and conducting interviews.
• Work with brand Global Marketing, Global Communications, and Creative on developing an overarching content strategy across social/digital platforms, e-commerce, in store, etc.
• Proactively engage consumers online to drive favorable brand conversations. Work with PR team to respond to questions, comments and related opportunities with speed and judgment.
• Serve as a liaison in any social media executions with affiliates world-wide. As part hereof manage communication of campaigns/programs and help provide guidance to implement locally.
• Stay up-to-date on new social media tools and best practices; monitor competitors and other social media leaders to see how they are using them to be the early adopter of technologies.
• Research and stay ahead of digital innovation, fashion and beauty trends.
• Generate metrics reports using standardized tools and craft analyses based on the data; assist in developing related recommendations.
• Demonstrate 24/7 approach to responsibilities.
• During fashion week, work with PR team to execute Social strategy - duties to be shared across department to ensure that activities are maximized
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Capabilities:
• Digital and social savvy with a passion for digital innovation
• Highly engaged in social networking sites. Active social media life.
• Passion for beauty, hair and fashion
• Demonstrated ability to execute and optimize social/digital campaigns
• Exceptional project and analytical skills with experience in social and digital analytics (e.g. core metrics, google analytics, brand watch and social platform analytics)
• Strong working knowledge of digital media including display, search, social and mobile marketing advertising
• Robust understanding of the e-commerce business landscape
• Ability to analyze data, summarizing stories and insights for media, websites and social engagement strategies
• Strong communication skills are essential, with the ability to build and maintain a strong rapport with internal and international teams as well as external vendors and handle situations with confidence, tact, and resourcefulness.
• Self-starter and highly motivated; capable of working independently, yet collaboratively, within a fast-paced environment
• Highly organized and able to multi-task, whilst maintaining clear and proactive flow of communication and ownership of tasks.
• Ability to "dive in", manage details and a "get it done" mentality
Education and Experience:
• BA or 4-year college degree required.
• 6-8 years’ of experience managing social media and/or digital marketing for a brand
• Expert in content development, channel optimization, brand consistency.
• Experienced with visual storytelling.
• Experienced with social media and content integration.
• Collaborative working style, with ability to work independently, as well as with team members at all levels of the Company.
• Excellent editing skills, with a passion for and proven history of successful brand storytelling across media.
• Must be organized, detail-oriented and able to prioritize multiple projects.
• Editorial or commercial successes with measurable results.
• Active engagement in online and social media.
• Branding/beauty/fashion/entertainment experience desirable.
• Self-motivated; able to own projects and execute in a timely manner.
• Familiarity with analytics and meaningful measurement.
• Excellent time management, analytical, decision-making and organizational skills.
• Strong project management skills and ability to create and execute plans.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Familiarity with Microsoft PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Familiar with social media management tools and services (e.g., Social Flow, Sprinklr, Crimson Hexagon).
• People management experience; managing a team and achieving goals while working with distributed team members.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation writing and delivery.
