Converse Communications Team

Director of Communications, Corporate
This person will lead the team that defines the Converse brand, positions the company in the marketplace, protects the company’s reputation and inspires our communities around the world.
The Communications Director will create and drive compelling and strategic stories and campaigns to define and elevate the brand and our leadership. Work will focus on telling stories that position Converse as a forward-thinking company redefining how today’s youth generation interacts with brands and influences today’s street style.
This role requires a creative problem solver who can balance the daily distractions without losing focus on placing the valuable stories that drive our narrative. This person will have proven media pitching experience with a strong record of placing high-impact stories across channels and verticals.
This role will work closely across all teams within the organization.
Responsibilities
• Build awareness of Converse momentum and impact on the industry through key initiatives and campaigns
• Build and maintain relationships with key business, lifestyle and culture media.
• Shape, grow and protect the Converse brand through strategic and creative storytelling.
• Develop written materials, including messaging, communications strategies and FAQs, etc.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree
• A minimum 10 years relevant work experience.
• Previous experience working with consumer and brand focused companies is preferred, not required.
• A self-starter who instinctively and consistently creates personal and professional stretch goals and meets them.
• Works well with others with the ability to build trust with the team and work effectively in a highly collaborative team environment
• Skilled at planning, organizing, prioritizing and executing simultaneous projects and activities. Proven ability to work well under pressure and adapt quickly to change.
• Excellent writing and editing skills.
• Curiosity and ability to think creatively, flexibility, and with a sense of humor.
