At our Global headquarters, located in Downtown Boston, we are looking for a Director of Finance, Global Revenue and Margin Management.This is an exciting opportunity for a high potential candidate with strong professional accomplishments to join one of the most iconic and innovative global consumer brands. The role has high exposure across many dimensions of the Converse organization and provides an excellent platform for further professional growth. You will be involved in a wide variety of activities related to Converse’s Product Categories, Product Engines, Forecasting and Performance Management, which provides unique visibility to all Gross Margin related financial metrics across Converse’s business.
As leader of a large Global team (20+ team members located in both Boston and China) you will effectively partner with a broad set of stakeholders across Finance, Strategic Planning, Product Engines and Converse’s Innovation, Design, Product, and Merchandise (IDPM) teams. You will be a trusted advisor to Senior Leadership within both Finance and the IDPM organization. This role reports directly to the Sr. Director of Finance, Global Business Planning.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following areas:
• Supporting the end-to-end future seasonal planning (strategic and financial) processes as far as Gross Margin and Volumes are concerned
• Expanding and scaling the analytics concerning all levers of Gross Margin
• Providing input and guidance related to Revenue and Gross Margin targeting process
• Being a strategic thought partner – developing guardrails to drive profitability while fostering an entrepreneurial environment as it relates to product roadmap and global product initiatives
• Providing leadership to a large team (20+ members located across the Globe); Includes goal setting, career development, coaching, resource optimization, recruiting/hiring, and training.
• Developing standardized and recurring financial reporting on key product platforms
• Partnering with business leaders to build/elevate global margin planning process with clear visibility around demand, price, and costs for key platforms
• Driving cross functional alignment and collaboration – provide visibility and communication with IDPM teams (along with Finance, demand planning, costing) on KPIs and financial targets
• Spearheading cross-product analytics for IDPM teams and develop new tools/process for Revenue/Margin teams to elevate analytics and improve efficiencies
• Leading the performance management process through forecasting and risks and opportunities analysis as well as developing action plans to meet growth objectives
• Performing ad hoc scenario analysis to optimize performance in alignment of strategic priorities
• Ensuring leadership teams are educated on use, interpretation, and implications of financial reports and metrics
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you must be a self-starter who can work with limited oversight, and balance taking initiative around complex issues applying innovative solutions while executing diligently under tight timelines when required. You must possess exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail paired with the ability to see the bigger picture, a strong work ethic and a desire to continuously learn and help evolve the department. Additionally, you need to possess the ambition to think as an owner and strategic thinker.
Requirements
• Bachelor/Master degree required with a minimum of 7-10 years directly relevant work experience
• Experience working for a Fortune 500/multinational consumer products company is a plus
• Certifications: MBA (Finance, Economics, or related fields), CMA or CPA preferred
• History of providing leadership to professional staff
• Is accountable for the performance and results of multiple related business units
• Client service attitude and ability to exercise high degree of professionalism
• Innate desire to continuously explore, learn, and exercise intellectual curiosity; comfort with ambiguity and ability to quickly adapt to competing/changing priorities
• Process and Detail-oriented with the ability to think holistically and strategically about a business
• Knowledge and use of SAP and Business Objects preferred
