Associate Email Marketing Manager, Gap Online US
Role Description
The Email Marketing Associate will play a critical role in the strategic development and execution of all emails for Gap North America.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Analytics & testing
• Hindsight email performance (weekly, quarterly and ad-hoc). Use hindsighting and other analysis to present key findings to marketing leadership, develop recommendations, and identify future implications.
• Analyze data at a granular level, summarize concisely and report out key learnings. Distill trends from raw data.
• Execute email test plans in partnership with marketing manager, analyze and share results .
• Strategy
• Develop a deep understanding of the Gap brand, the brand aesthetic and the brand voice.
• Participate in development of the monthly email marketing calendar and own daily maintenance, taking into consideration events, promotions, historical performance, and customer experience.
• Partner closely with merchandising and global marketing counterparts to identify trends and pull together compelling, customer facing, brand appropriate product stories.
• Develop creative briefs and take project from kick off to launch. Responsible for reviewing, evaluating & providing relevant feedback to the creative team at project review.
• Build on pre-season marketing concepts with performance and hindsighting metrics.
• Own email proofing and QA.
• Manage creative refreshes for evergreen creative.
• Brainstorm and generate new and innovative ideas for future email messages, including triggered campaigns
• Track competitive emails and develop actionable insights
• Help facilitate brainstorms for marketing or creative partners
• Cross functional relationships
• Filter, prioritize and manage email requests from various parts of the company.
• Manage and maintain close partnership with Cross-brand Marketing teams, CRM team, Merchandising, Creative, Production, Gap stores, and Email Vendor
• Passion for Gap, the retail/fashion industry, and email marketing
• Background in online retail/fashion industry preferred. Email experience preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to inform marketing decisions based on data
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to deal with ambiguity effectively
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple projects
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly excel
• 2+ years relevant Marketing experience
