General Description
To create and develop production ready print and pattern artwork for multiple Intimate Apparel categories.
Performance Requirements
• Ability to create original artwork through mixed media, paintings, graphic design and CAD that are exclusive to Catherines.
• Research artwork trend direction through magazines, online services, blogs, etc.
• Strong ability to mix hand drawing skills & computer skills to create compelling production-ready prints
• Clean, re-color and place prints into production sized repeats.
• Develop and merchandise completed artwork for seasonal concepts to present to the design team and merchants in order to assist them in understanding global print direction.
• Understand, embrace and execute Brand direction as set by VP, Sr. CAD Manager and Design.
• Knowledge of customer needs/wants as well as current and emerging trends with the ability to translate it into brand right product balancing core and fashion.
• Review and comment on strike offs for print execution.
• Prepare and release artwork tech packages to vendor partners.
• Communicate daily with vendor partners on artwork development.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple seasons within your categories
• Know the expectations and processes involved for key presentations and deadlines and manage time effectively.
• Takes initiative with the “big picture” and how the total look applies across classifications; aware of what is going on in other areas and how all areas relate to your own business.
Requirements
• 2-4 years’ experience in CAD related work
• Bachelor’s degree in Art & Design or related field
• Computer skills a must – Kaledo Print/Knit/Weave, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop
• Excellent organization skills
• Excellent verbal and communication skills
• Ability to Multi task and problem solve
• Ability to establish and maintain strong cross functional partnerships
