Core Description:
The Director of New Business Development is responsible for creating long-term value for the organization by identifying new business opportunities. They are responsible for delivering growth through new distribution (Brick and Mortar & Ecommerce) on existing Coty brands. This person will become an expert on Coty brand strategies and product portfolios in order to evaluate new distribution opportunities. They will work closely with potential retailers developing relationships and presenting brand/product sell-in stories which align to the P&L. Once new distribution is gained the project will be turned over and managed by sales.
The role will act as a direct resource to Senior Leadership and be instrumental in maximizing sales, and driving overall growth and performance. This person should be adaptable to the changing needs of the business and communicate progress and risk effectively to senior management on a consistent basis. The right candidate will be highly organized and proactive in their approach, with a positive, team-player attitude. The position calls for a growth and results driven strategist who is tapped in culturally within the industry. This person must be experienced in managing multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
• Define short and long-term organizational strategic goals, build key customer relationships, and identify business opportunities.
• Develop deep understanding of Coty Brands (strategies, priorities, portfolios, etc)
• Develop deep understanding of potential new customer’s (positioning, trends, competitors, price tiers, etc)
• Create and deliver compelling brand / category story for new distribution sell-in to prospective retailer (brand positioning fit, product opportunity, marketing support, trade support, consumer and buyer insights, etc)
• Budget / P&L management
• Collaborate with customer marketing, sales, creative, supply chain, finance, media, influencer marketing, and other key stakeholders
• Serve as primary liaison to new customers and sales/marketing teams, building and leveraging relationships with senior level cross functional counterparts.
• Work with sales, marketing, and Supply chain teams to forecast and plan new business opportunities
• Work with brand teams on approval of any sales material
Application Pre-Requisites:
• 4-year undergraduate Degree, or equivalent, MBA Preferred
• 10+ year’s professional experience in a sales/marketing environment
• financial acumen / P&L knowledge
