JOB TITLE: Marketing Manager
REPORTING TO: Senior Marketing Manager
DEPARTMENT: Marketing
PURPOSE OF ROLE: To manage and deliver key areas of the marketing strategy for Dorothy Perkins, including multichannel promotions, events and campaigns, to raise the profile of the brand, drive sales, and increase footfall to store and site. The role supports the Marketing Director and Senior Marketing Manager and works closely with Digital and International Marketing. It’s pivotal in bringing together the multichannel comms strategy and ensuring a seamless customer message.
Tasks & Responsibilities
Brand Campaigns
• Plan seasonal brand activity for the business, supporting key departments, calendar dates, promotions and events
• Manage product led campaigns and new collection launches, from idea generation and planning, to budget management, media planning, print, digital, social and in store activity
• Support key business focuses eg Dresses, Curve/Petite, Denim and Footwear
• Work with the wider teams to ensure campaign activity is multichannel and communicated across the business
• Work closely with Burton to align activity where appropriate
Promotions and Events
• Plan and deliver brand events and promotions, analysing and reporting on performance post-activity
• Manage promotional TV ads – shoot planning, product selection, production, editing, media schedule and Clearcast approval
• Deliver integrated Black Friday campaign
• Ensure consistency of message across site, stores and associated channels
Retail
• Oversee all marketing graphics, messaging and customer journey in stores
• Support brand and product campaigns in store where relevant
• Regular store visits and dialogue to inform and support on key initiatives, eg campaigns, ipad sales, card
• Strong awareness of competitor brand activity
• Oversee marketing support for External Businesses, store openings, closures, and modernisations
Giftcard
• Develop DP giftcard strategy, aligning store and online
• Management of Dorothy Perkins giftcard, including creative development, sign off, in store graphic support, digital support, sales analysis
Mastercard
• Work with NewDay to oversee DP Mastercard strategy, including statements, cardholder events, in store graphics, digital support
• Identify opportunities to potentialise sales and acquire new cardholders
• Work with other Arcadia Marketing Managers to align activity
Strategic partnerships
• Manage on-going charity partnership with Breast Cancer Care – drive store fundraising, identify and deliver new initiatives, amplify BCC campaigns and messages
• Identify and deliver strategic brand partnerships to drive customer acquisition and sales - including offers, competitions, insert campaigns, reciprocal marketing activity and content sharing
• Participation in relevant live events eg This Morning Live, shopping centre events, wedding shows etc
Research
• Manage ongoing customer research with E-Digital
• Design and co-ordinate panel surveys and hot topics with E-Digital, as and when the business requires. Analyse and share results of research with wider business
Other
• Annual budget planning, ownership and allocation
• Management of shoot budget and annual shoot schedule to ensure delivery of required creative assets for all channels and objectives of the business
• Work with the ECRM Marketing Manager to support email database growth and email strategy, considering both acquisition and retention
• Understand DP’s different customer personas and work with Digital to tailor comms accordingly
• Take a leadership role, inspiring and motivating the team
