Description
The Apparel Business Director will focus on developing strategies and driving key commercial initiatives that will accelerate long term growth of the Converse Apparel business. The role will report into the VP of Geographies & Global Sales and the Global VP of Apparel.
Key Responsibilities Include:
• Develop an integrated global apparel growth strategy and identify resulting key priorities.
• Generate DTC and key account apparel growth strategies and priorities in partnership with DTC GMs and Geo strategic account directors.
• Spearhead execution of the apparel strategies and priorities in partnership with key stakeholders.
• Develop clear understanding of current key sales processes/efforts in apparel and assess for areas of opportunity in lead/activity management, utilization and effectiveness.
• Identify and prioritize commercial process improvement opportunities for the Apparel business
• Provide insights and strategy recommendations -- based on data analysis, best practices and stakeholder input -- in support of key business decisions in partnership with the Global Commercial Apparel management teams
Qualifications
• 8-10 years overall experience in a mix of strategy, apparel, business management, and commercial roles.
• Experience working within the buying/selling/merch environment of apparel retailers like Urban Outfitters, Asos, Macy’s, Pac Sun etc
• Ability to work effectively in a highly-matrixed environment and to work "up and down the ladder", i.e., capable of interpreting strategy and managing by “influence”, while also capable of engaging in detailed implementation planning and execution
• Strong project management skills with ability to accommodate global and local requirements and delivery to deadlines
• Strong analytic skills and problem-solving ability with demonstrated history of analyzing quantitative and/or qualitative data
• Superior interpersonal skills with solid written and oral communication skills and demonstrated history of presenting confidently and comfortably to senior management, commercial leaders and field salesforces\
• Proven ability to manage and develop people, and experience leading cross-functional and virtual teams with competing agendas/priorities
