Manager, North America Marketing, Darphin
Description
Principle Objective:
Drive North America sales and market share growth for Darphin through customized marketing, promotional, social, and retailer campaigns, consistent with brand’s short-term and long-term goals.
Strives to build strong partnerships with – and support from – key accounts across breadth of distribution including department stores, specialty/multi, spas and online both in U.S. and Canada. Partners closely with global brand team, sales field and retailers to direct the development of North America programs for maximum results.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1.) Seasonal Planning and Program Development
Lead the creation of the marketing strategy for North America each season across new product launches, Holiday, Gift with Purchase, Gift with Visit, Sampling and Events.
• Spearhead the development of both national and retailer-specific marketing programs.
• Guide the development of the promotional and marketing calendar, integrating activities across all Darphin distribution channels in North America.
• Partner closely with Directors on account specific program needs.
• Provide seasonal Market Meeting presentations specific to each account.
• Lead cross function communication monthly on marketing calendar updates, changes, to ensure all teams are prepared to plan and execute effectively with the most up to date information.
• Lead and drive merchandising updates across all retail partners. Work closely with NAMG team and retailer teams like (Sephora/Rapid) to ensure timely planogram updates and execution.
2.)Program Execution
• Partner with Global Marketing to develop 360 degree new product launch campaigns and promotional programs, ensuring relevancy for the North America market.
• Partner closely with Merchandising, Education, Demand Planning, and other cross-functional groups in the planning and execution of marketing programs of including system set up, allocations, merchandising execution, field execution and field communication.
• Manage marketing grid to ensure all marketing programs are set up according to ELC standards and delivered on time and on budget. Track programs from demand, to ship, to receipt and manage excess inventory proactively.
• Lead non-saleable allocations and operations (Passport) including sampling and collateral.
• Collaborate with online group to maximize online programs and bolster retail sales.
• Lead and drive timely production of local programs via Fast Track to ensure accurate and on time delivery.
3.) Influencer / PR Team Liason
• Collaborate closely with PR Agency on all seasonal planning, support, events and special partnership to ensure maximized exposure and impact.
• Lead relationships with key Influencer Agencies to select the right influencers for the brand activations and to ensure the materials provided are inspiring, post worthy, relevant, and modern with the brand story as hero.
• Collaborate with key partners for development of retailer specific influencer programs and ensure support elements are on point for maximum impact and results.
4.) Business Analysis
• Make analytically supported recommendations to influence sales performance and budget development.
• Partner closely with demand planning, account directors, online, field, and finance to forecast new launches, sampling and promotions.
• Measure the effectiveness of marketing programs during and post launch and provide monthly recap of NA results on launches and programs.
5.) New Product Launch Budget Management
• Plans annual marketing budget and updates monthly.
• Recommends strategies and tactical plans to ensure the most efficient spend of marketing funds with maximum sales impact.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• The candidate should have 5+ years of related experience in beauty or consumer packaged goods.
• Undergraduate degree required. MBA is a plus.
• Must have ability to think strategically and to conceptualize and implement new ideas.
• Must have the strong analytical skills and detail orientation.
• Flexibility to manage multiple tasks and take complete ownership of projects. Requires strong oral and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal and team building capabilities with internal and external partners.
• Experience working with international partners a plus.
• French speaking a plus for working with global brand partners based in Paris.
• Travel both Internationally and Domestically as needed for key meetings, activations, and programs.
