Senior Manager Merchandising, US Training - Graphic Tee's
Purpose:
Develop business strategy to achieve net sales, net margin, inventory and SKU productivity for assigned category. Contribute relevant portions of annual and seasonal business plans on appropriate timelines with both global product groups and U.S. marketing and sales groups.
Key Accountabilities:
• Develop the marketing strategy for the business from brief through range launch for assigned category.
• Drive alignment across all vertical sport BU’s to maximize Graphics potential at key sport & brand moments.
• Lead communication with Global team to build relationships and ensure category is executing & delivering at global milestones.
• Manage inventory to category goals by maintaining buying controls and close out releases.
• Prepare the line for go to market excellence, including catalogue and web text maintenance.
• Ensure category and account objectives are met.
• Build range assortment and merchandising by channels and accounts from merchandising tools to catalogs and floor plans, which gives clear product direction and information to the operational departments
• Collaborate with the Category Director to develop category initiatives in order to meet key commercial goals. Drive end-to-end initiatives through to all departments.
• Implement activation plans to drive authentic stories with sports marketing and brand marketing.
• Build market/retailer network to maintain trend and product awareness
• Presents ranges internally and externally (to key retailers)
• Identify the products that maximize profitability/productivity and present those to the Category Director in a clear and concise format
• Communicate the pricing strategies for the assortment to the Category Director to ensure we meet the global/local strategy as well as the targeted channel segment
• Own category margin, profitability and inventory – manage process, communication, and action steps with key business partners.
• Work with the Sales Manager & Concept-to-Consumer Managers to achieve goals by channel by account.
• Manage end-to-end business models/supply chain solutions to obtain greater profit and cash flow, by channel, by key accounts.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
• Proven ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Strong business acumen in channel distribution, net sales, margin, profit and inventory
• Ability to provide merchandising leadership, including ability to manage/mentor more junior resources
• Ability to work with and influence all levels of the organization
• Strong presentation and planning skills
• Strong process and project management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to merchandise across channels and accounts
• A thorough understanding of retailers/markets, specifically in the sporting goods industry
• Prior knowledge of retail or wholesale preferred
• Ability to travel (domestic & international)
Qualifications:
1. Four year college or university degree, preferably in Marketing/Business.
2. Minimum five (5) years product marketing or related industry experience.
3. Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for degree.
4. Previous merchandising experience in the sporting goods industry preferred.
5. Previous creation/merchandising experience with Graphics preferred.
