POSITION SUMMARY
The North Face will begin to work on our Spring ’19 product line in mid May 2017. We are looking for Product Developers to be a part of our team as summer interns in 2017. As an intern at The North Face, you'll help to create our Spring ’19 pattern blocks and technical design packages. You will help to execute projects that will shape what will be sold at retail for Spring ’19. You'll have the opportunity to research consumer/athlete and market trends. In addition, you will conduct a competitive fit analysis for your assigned product category. Your project will culminate in a cross functional presentation to Product Developers, Senior Designs and Product Managers the end of the summer.
Your project could consist of work to include key milestones listed below:
• Research previous garment construction and styles lines for assigned Product Category as well as current trends in the marketplace
• Review current pattern blocks for assigned Product Category for Spring ‘19
• Develop Seasonal Spring ’19 pattern blocks. Sew mock up blocks in our innovation sewing lab.
• Present competitive fit analysis for your assigned product category to the cross functional product teams
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
• Must be a full-time college student in your junior or senior year majoring in one of the following fields: Fashion Apparel/Fashion, Product, Graphic Design, or Business
• Skilled at utilizing programs, such as Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop and MS Word
• Basic working knowledge of Gerber Pattern Making systems
• Excellent communication, organizational and project management skills
• Ability to organize thoughts and project details quickly under time constraints
• Strong presentation skills
