Overview:
Assist Technical Designer with preparing samples from vendors in order to execute the technical fitting process.
Responsibilities:
• Measure incoming garments against vendor supplied measurements.
• Prepare and track samples and counter samples and make sure approval dates are met.
• Assisting Technical Designer in technical fittings by preparing samples, taking notes, completing fit lists, and model booking.
• Maintain tech log and tech packs under the direction of the Technical Designer.
• Generate detailed sketch and tech packs. Able to communicate to factories in various methods, i.e. pattern correction, digital photos, technical sketches, technical not and garment construction.
• Strong attention to details and accuracy
• Team player, is receptive to direction, collaborate with designer, production, merchants and overseas vendor.
• Daily communication with overseas and internal departments.
• Knowledge of sweater yarns, ply’s gauges, tension and stitches
• Other responsibilities will vary according to department to department needs and special projects being handled by the manager.
Qualifications:
• College degree in technical design, fashion design or equivalent experience in related area
• 2-4 years of technical design experience
• Proficient in PC applications including MS Excel
• Strong knowledge of Adobe Illustrator
• Knowledge of sweater construction, pattern making, grading
• Flexible and ability to multi task
• Basic knowledge of Karat or Web PDM preferred
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Organized, detail oriented
