Specific Responsibilities
• Analyze retail sales and profitability for retail partners with an end goal of growing the business.
• Monitor retailer's weekly sales trends and promotional activity in order to identify risk and opportunities.
• Conduct data analysis of classifications and strategize how to use the information to drive sales.
• Analyze selling at the sku level to identify trends and generate reorder opportunities.
• Review sales by store to ensure top performers are receiving the stock needed to exceed plans.
• Create and forecast seasonal Open to Buys for retail partners.
• Provide strategic direction both in season and pre-season targeted at increasing sales and profitability.
• Monitor inventory and receipt levels to enable sales plans to be achieved or exceeded.
• Track all levers to optimize sales, turn, gross margin and EOS stock.
• Develop replenishment strategies where applicable to ensure proper flow and improved profitability.
• Create functional relationships that improve products lines and drive sales at retail.
• Develop successful working relationships with retail buying and planning teams.
• Internally conduct weekly business reviews to partner with sales on strategies to drive sales.
• Work cross functionally with sales, merchandising, design and production in order to influence future assortments.
• Provide leadership and motivate other planning team members, mentor junior staff members.
Skills and Requirements
• Bachelor's degree.
• 7-10 years of planning experience within department stores or similar channel of distribution.
• Previous experience planning for a footwear category is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated excellence in retail data analysis and Open to Buy management.
• Expert knowledge in Excel.
• Knowledge and use of retailer's online portals a plus.
• Attention to detail, strong oral and written communication skills.
• Proven self-starter who thrives in a fast paced environment.
