Senior Manager, E-commerce

Role Summary:
The Senior Manager, E-commerce, is responsible for delivering exceptional customer experience, targeted content, and engagement that will maximize conversion, customer satisfaction, and lifetime value of our growing customer base. The Senior Manager leads, engages, and inspires a team of digital marketing professionals to achieve Garage or Dynamite E-commerce business objectives.
Main Responsibilities:
1) Meet growth objectives:
• Develop a strategic plan for achieving E-commerce sales and budget objectives, and continuing to grow the E-commerce business with an omni-channel approach;
• In partnership with Planning, Allocation, and Merchandising teams, utilize market research, data analysis including category, competitor and customer trend information, to create the strategy, operating plan, and category/class level targets to ensure delivery of the Profit and Loss and business plan vision;
• In partnership with the Manager, Customer Acquisition, develop customer acquisition strategies by leveraging a range of techniques including paid search, retargeting, programmatic, Google shopping, and SEO that will drive qualified online traffic and customer acquisition;
• In partnership with the Manager, Lifecycle Communication, define and develop upsell and post-purchase email strategies and tactics that will increase email revenue contribution and the customer Lifetime Value (LTV);
• Manage all online merchandising promotions in collaboration with Planning and Allocation.
2) Tracking, reporting and forecasting of results:
• Accountable for delivering sales objectives, gross and net profit, and inventory level targets through forecasting and collaboration with Merchandising, Planning, and Allocation teams;
• Review, analyze, and communicate results weekly, monthly, and quarterly, driving decision-making that will increase conversion and optimize user experience, improving product presentation, navigation, cross-selling, and other merchandising opportunities;
• Contribute to the development of E-commerce KPIs and benchmarks (acquisition, retention, engagements, customer lifetime value, etc.).
3) Develop cross-functional Agile processes:
• Through the use of Scrum-like methodology, partner with cross-functional teams, including Merchandising, Marketing, and Creative, to develop quarterly campaign and category-specific business plans, strategies and tactics that will drive sales, gross margin, and customer satisfaction.
4) Develop a highly digital, proficient team:
• Develop internal partnerships related to E-commerce growth opportunities, including merchandising, customer acquisition, email lifecycle, CRM, marketing, and digital product owners, in order to create new digital marketing opportunities and programs that will generate user engagement and incremental revenue;
• Lead, coach, and develop the E-commerce graphic, content, and merchandise team to achieve short-term objectives and sustain customer and business results;
• Responsible for employee engagement, development, and for ensuring that each employee has current development and succession plans in place.
5) Stimulate and introduce innovation and creativity:
• Champion online customer experience, and an understanding of online Customer behaviour, ensuring brand alignment with brand guide;
• Work with Marketing and Creative to identify online merchandising themes (trends, lookbooks, gift shop, personas, landing page, contest, etc.) that will serve as feature/hero stories and ensure the production of digital assets working as per the seasonal calendar;
• Partner with Planning and Merchandising to craft the strategic direction of E-commerce promotions and initiatives in close alignment with holistic retail marketing plan;
• Build an online merchandising experience through content/imagery/graphics for all launches, product movement, and day-to-day optimization that enhances the brand and drives conversion.
Qualifications and Competencies:
• University degree in Business, Marketing or E-commerce.
• Six (6) to ten (10) years of E-commerce, digital or online marketing experience; Experience in a web agency or fashion retail company (an asset).
• Passion for and solid knowledge of the omni-channel landscape (retail, E-commerce and mobile);
• General knowledge and understanding of SEM, SEO, social media, affiliate, display advertising channels and their metrics;
• Understanding of audience-building strategies;
• Superior analytical skills, using web analytics packages such as Google Analytics is essential.
• Successful track record for high volume E-commerce growth and bottom line results;
• Proven experience in building, developing, and managing a North American E-commerce business;
• Great attitude, a strong team player who is capable of driving consensus and buy-in across a broad array of stakeholders, including the leadership team, with an exceptional ability to develop and enhance cooperative and productive working relationships;
• Skilled problem solver and ability to adapt to the frequently changing needs of the business;
• Good time management, negotiation and organizational skills, with ability to multi-task;
• Flexible, with the ability to prioritize and make good decisions;
• Creative thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and to oversee multiple projects at once;
• Experience leading a multi-disciplinary team of high-performing individuals;
• Excellent communication skills;
• Proven ability to influence Executives and decision makers;
• Bilingual (English and French) with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Direct and indirect supervision of 6 to 10 people.
