Director, Global Store Design, Tom Ford Beauty
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Propose and develop new design initiatives in line with Brand Global vision.
• Coordinate with visual merchandising, creative, marketing and sales to develop cohesive brand design identity.
• Aid ED and Creative Director in ensuring Global Brand vision is upheld at consistent level of excellence while addressing regional parameters and concerns.
• Manage high volume workload and prioritize project requirements effectively.
• Ensure clear communication, transfer of information and alignment of regional teams to maintain and build collaborative and efficient process.
• Take initiative to be up to date and aware of Global projects and ascertain relevancy for this market.
• Prototyping schedules and reviews.
• Aiding ED with Budget Management for Regions.
• Aid ED with Training and Coaching new and existing Store Design team members.
• Aid ED with Strategic Planning of Office Structures.
• Aid the oversight of all Retail formats Globally (including Shop in Shop, Free Standing stores and Perfumeries) Tasks to include aiding with:
• All new TFB locations: layout – design –3-d visualization (sketch and presentation level) -design development- supervision of project management to project end-punch lists-handovers.
• Site inspections/visits /Punchlists (if applicable)
• Quality monitoring during process
• Project Management Overview
• Design development drawings
• Review of Detail drawings
• Shop drawing reviews
• Aid with supervision, direction & coordination of:
• International Affiliates.
• Regional Store Design teams
• Architectural & Engineering Consultants –Domestic and International
• Project Managers
• Contractors
• Retailers
• All Suppliers and Trades Persons
• Field Sales
• Internal Departments -Brand/Corporation
• Retail Store Development Group
• Activities to include:
• Regular Project Status Updates
• Regular Conference calls with all Parties (Regionally/Globally)
• Establishing and reviewing project timelines & Schedules
• General Contractor & Executive Architect Selection
• Monthly Strategic Door list review
• Yearly Round Table to train on Standards, Construction Details and Resources
• Construction Supervisions –Conference calls/meetings on site
• Site Visits, Market Visits and reviews
• Aid ED with Evolving Store Design Concept:
• Architectural Concept and Development
• Fixture Concept and Development
• Lighting Concept and Development
• New Materials Selection and Specification
• Merchandising Concept liaising with VM
• R&D
• Prototyping
• Technical Detailing
• Code Compliance
• Budget Calculations
• Construction Management
• Design Execution Control
• Presentation to ED and Creative Teams
Qualifications
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• B.Arch or M.Arch mandatory
• 6-8 years of architectural design and construction experience.
• At least 3 years of project management experience.
• Ability to detail fixtures in realistic and executable fashion.
• Knowledge of materials and methods of fabrication and installation of fixtures and construction.
• Vectorworks (or AutoCad) and photoshop proficient. 3-d skills a plus
• Excellent communication skills and ability to motivate others on team.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Knowledge of retail trends and environments.
• Must be able to work independently as well as with the team.
• Must be able to follow projects from inception to completion.
• Must be able to execute several projects at once in a timely and efficient manner.
