Sr Visual Retail Merchandiser: Become the Newest Member of the Vans Family
As a Sr. Merchandiser you will be working closely with the Buying, Merchant, and Allocations teams to set the most profitable Floorsets for the North America Retail stores. By partnering with the Senior Visual Merchandising Manager and the Director of Marketing, you will ensure that key marketing stories are told through your visual floorsets. Time will be spent strategizing new and innovative ways to create the most enticing displays in the market. As VANS launches new store types, your creative input will be key in the success of the Division. You will play a crucial role in producing novel and unique concepts for merchandise presentations from concept through implementation. As a Sr. Merchandiser, part of your responsibility, includes influencing the broader VM team. An important aspect of this role will be having the ability to think outside of the box and participate in developing new strategies for new Retail store concepts as the Retail landscape continues to evolve.
How You Will Make a Difference:
Manage the monthly floor set process including all seasonal visual direction that supports the company’s marketing strategy.
• Partner with Retail Visual Merchandising Manager on merchandising strategies seasonally and make sure the entire brand initiatives are being incorporated into the monthly floorsets.
• Partner with merchant teams in writing visual merchandising direction for test stores/test markets.
• Communicate visual merchandising standards, initiatives, and seasonal sets in alignment with company goals.
• Takes a leadership role in planning and executing field visual training Maintain visual merchandising standards and guidelines for all categories represented in Vans retail stores.
• Create new visual presentations and display techniques for interior space within stores.
• Ability to complete quality and timely project work in a consistent, timely and organized manner.
• Train and develop in store staff and work with the Retail Visual Merchandising Manager to train department talent of those currently in place.
Skills for Success:
Years of Related Professional Experience: 5+ years
Educational/ Position Requirements:
• A Bachelor’s degree in Visual Merchandising/Marketing or related field and a minimum of 5 years general management experience in the Visual Merchandising field or an equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities
• Experience working in the Retail fashion industry
• Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
Special Physical and/or Mental Requirements:
• Travel by air and overnight, as required 25% of time
• Lifting and/or bending 1-25 pounds
