Designer – Production – Environmental Design: Become the Newest Member of the Vans Family
This is a great opportunity for individuals that like to roll up their sleeves and get down to business! How does this work? Is there a better way to make this functional? How can this be produced more efficiently in order to save money and time? Questions like these are constantly being asked by the Environmental Design Production Designer and are thoughtfully processed and solved by that individual as well. If this sounds like a role you would be interested in taking control of, then this could be the best gig in the world for you. The individual who fulfills this role will be a part of a creative led team comprised of environmental design and art directors. Their main objective? Roll out action sport visuals to Vans retail & wholesale partners throughout the nation and beyond. Vans is determined to keep creating authentic and fashionable products that can be appreciated by creative expressers in the action sports, music, art, and street culture communities. As long as we keep our ambitious nature alive, we will never stop at reaching towards higher goals that will benefit both our devoted employees and consumers.
How You Will Move the Needle:
• Lead presentations with strong verbal and visual execution, while clearly communicating design vision.
• Lead, delegate, manage, and drive multiple design projects from conceptualization to finished product, adhering to calendar deadlines.
• Lead and mentor designers through clear and consistent coaching and development.
• Value engineering to save expense and sales associate time.
• Discover environmentally thoughtful resources that we can implement in production.
• Determine ways to create multi-functional fixtures to show the Vans product in the best light possible.
• Creating the best practices to gain better efficiencies in order to have continuous improvement.
Skills for Success:
Years of Related Professional Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in a retail and/or wholesale environment
Educational/ Position Requirements:
• A Bachelor’s degree in interior design, environmental design or related field and a minimum of 3 years of general management experience in the production field or an equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
• Experience working in the industrial or ED industry
Special Physical and/or Mental Requirements:
• Travel by air and overnight, as required 15% amount of time.
• Lifting and/or bending 50lb amount of weight.
