Position Summary
The primary responsibility of the Consumer Applications Lead is to evolve and grow our eCommerce and consumer engagement platforms through the strategy, new product ideas, design and implementation of innovative solutions supporting the Direct to Consumer business strategy. This person will effectively lead consumer applications projects and collaborate with internal business and IT teams, external partners/vendors, consumer groups, and market research involved in ideating, developing and delivering the solutions that drive a sustainable competitive advantage for TaylorMade Golf. Successful candidates will have the combination business acumen, project management, product management, and technical expertise.
This position is an “athlete” that has both business and technical acumen and driven to find solutions complete his/her accountable actions and continuously move forward.
Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities
• Determines customers' needs and desires by specifying the research needed to obtain market information
• Assesses market competition by comparing the company's product to competitors' products
• Brings new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing time schedules with engineering and manufacturing.
• Understand, gather, influence, shape, and document business and functional requirements
• Design technology solutions to meet business requirements
• Define testing requirements for solutions under development
• Manage a the consumer applications project portfolio and pipeline including AGILE releases by prioritizing the highest ROI on project requests
• Follow-up and track tasks, issues and risks; communicate and escalate as appropriate
• Serve as an escalation point for resolving incidents
• Apply knowledge and experience in web, social and mobile platforms to solution design, where applicable
• Be an active member of the digital team (blending IT and Business to one organization) to drive strategic roadmaps and multiple year views of the business
• Manage day to day relationships with vendors; own, foster and grow
• Performs other responsibilities as assigned
Knowledge and Skills Requirements
• Strong understanding of business processes supporting eCommerce functions
• Strong understanding of current web technologies used in eCommerce.
• Ability to gather, influence, shape, and document business requirements
• Ability to prioritize tasks, features and fixes for in-house and offshore development resources
• Strong knowledge of the system development life cycle
• Demonstrate strong business and technical acumen for troubleshooting and problem solving
• Must be able to quickly assess issues and react to changing circumstances and new information
• Abreast of market place and competitor platform product offerings to enhance TMaG platforms
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within an agile software life-cycle
• Must be able to communicate effectively and able to convince both business and IT resources on direction and decisions
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment, including prioritizing and muti-tasking while paying close attention to detail
• Possess a great attitude and an insatiable appetite for learning
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
• Knowledge of MS Office Tools (Outlook, Word, Powerpoint, Excel)
• Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, SQL
• Understanding of IRR, ROI, business case creation
• Specific Demandware knowledge a plus
• Love of golf a plus
Education, Work Experience, and Professional Certifications
• Minimum education:4 year college degree from an accredited university
• Strong preference towards: Bachelor of Science tract towards technical but equally strong business acumen
• Previous AGILE project experience 5-7 years’ experience working and coordinating directly with the eCommerce/Marketing business team preferred
Work Environment / Physical Requirements
• Primarily office environment
• Ability to work extended hours as necessary
• Light physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials
