The Technical Product Manager for merchandising acts as the product champion, and is empowered to independently drive to agreement on product requirements and directions. The ideal candidate would have an understanding of merchandising systems including: Purchase Order Management, Inventory Control Management, Promotion Management, Item Management, Inventory Control - Physical Inventory. This individual will be skilled in working across departments to collaborate with Business Managers, User Experience, Application Architects, Engineering Delivery Teams, Project Managers, QA, and Operations teams.
Responsibilities:
• Build and evaluate business cases to support product investment decisions in enterprise wide merchandising systems.
• Lead the product discovery process (technology business requirements, functional design).
• Initiate new features/solutions and communicate to business stakeholders for buy in.
• Collaborate with the business teams during discovery to assess value, usability and feasibility of product features.
• Specify, prioritize and communicate high level and detailed product specifications using written specifications, business rules, flows and use cases as well as user experience generated deliverables such as Business Requirement Documents, Technical Design Documents for technical audience as well as user groups.
• Manage third-party dependencies and secure necessary engagement/resource alignment for the creation of co-developed product features
• Engage frequently with engineers, project management and user experience teams (Subject Manager Experts) during implementation; be available to quickly answer questions that arise during implementation and to make scope trade-off decisions.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Systems, or related field and 3-5 years’ experience in product management, business consulting, or related field.
• 3-5 years’ relevant professional experience required in Retail/ERP applications and production support.
• Cloud based Retail/Supply Chain experience strongly preferred.
• A good balance of user interaction design and technical depth
• Project management skills are a must have and solid communications skills for both users and technical audiences.
Technical Qualifications:
• Java Scripting
• SQL
• Data Base Management: SSIS packages / ETL functions / EDI
• NetSuite Scripting experience preferred
