We are seeking a Creative Director to lead THE OUTNET’s Creative and Editorial team in order to drive new customers, retain existing customers and increase sales through development of on-brand, on-strategy, compelling content through a mix of online and offline channels.
The Creative Director will shape and direct THE OUTNET’s editorial content and fashion styling by developing original editorial/content ideas within the house style with the overall goal of promoting sales and a cohesive brand experience for customers, suppliers and staff and ultimately using content as a differentiator within the industry.
Responsibilities:
• Work with the EVP of THE OUTNET to define and implement the Creative vision to be on-brand, relevant and forward thinking to take THE OUTNET into the next stage of business
• Generate and oversee the full range of creative content that THE OUTNET requires, across all digital and social channels (website, mobile, email, social media, video) and define its look and feel as required by channel
• Work with THE OUTNET technology team and Head of E-commerce on an ongoing basis to help develop an exciting, dynamic and distinctive e-commerce experience for THE OUTNET customers and visitors
• Liaise with the Marketing and Buying teams to ensure consistent messaging of product buys across all channels and to support the sales goals of the business
• Work with THE OUTNET Marketing team to develop and design innovative vehicles to carry THE OUTNET message and brand
• Support THE OUTNET President, VP, Global Buying and Director Sales & Marketing in developing creative strategies for buying and special projects
• Collaborate with Group Advertising team and THE OUTNET’s Director of Sales & Marketing to define strategies to leverage THE OUTNET’s audience and make content a profit centre
• Provide clear direction to the Creative team and ensure creative processes are efficient and effective - balancing deadline and quality requirements
• Work with THE OUTNET team to build and maintain effective and creative relationships with media, brands and creative suppliers (photographers, producers, art directors, stylists, make-up artists, modelling agencies etc
• Recruit, oversee and mentor a dedicated and talented and creative team for THE OUTNET
• Oversee creative headcount and expenditure budgets, ensuring maximum efficiency to drive margin growth
• At all times act as a brand ambassador for THE OUTNET, participating in key partnership meetings, as required
Essential Skills & Requirements:
• Have a seat on THE OUTNET’s Senior Management team to define and execute strategy for the business quarterly, yearly and 3 year planning.
• Lead teams through product and marketing message concept process
• Direct the Editorial and Design teams through multiple project planning and responsible for timely delivery of all creative projects.
• Collaborate with buying, retail, marketing and tech teams as well as project managers and user experience leads on company projects.
• Create and develop a world class creative team; Consistently review and evaluate team, conducting twice yearly appraisals, Identify needs for training and development, coaching and mentoring; Assess needs and conflicts within the department; Ensure teams function effectively to achieve THE OUTNET’s business goals.
• Review of project work for highest standards of quality, consistency, accuracy and successful project completion.
• Critically evaluate and work to improve the creative process and collaboration with other teams
• Liaise with external contacts in the preparation of and delivery of design briefs for partnerships or joint marketing partnerships
• Manage creative projects and costing
• Work with HR to manage staffing budget
• Ensure adequate resourcing within budget
• Book contributors as necessary
• Appraise individuals in Editorial and Styling teams
• Identify succession plan and recruitment needs for Editorial, Design and Styling teams
• Update Editorial and Styling teams of developments and changes
Location: London, W12
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
