Role purpose:
An experienced designer who will support a workstream and Product Design Lead by bringing to life strategic visions and design solutions that are driven by data and insights about our customer. This is a unique opportunity for someone who is passionate about developing strategies based off of insights of real people and has the mastery of their visual design craft to turn these insights into beautifully designed solutions (mainly interactions and high pedigree visuals). The ability to inspire the organization by showing/prototyping what is possible before it is built. You will have the ability to work within a collaborative team and champion smart and innovative products.
What you will do
• Lead and support 1 to 3 design projects across the entire product lifecycle.
• Support your Lead Product designer on multiple product launches. You support the vision for the user experience and create the space for others to collaborate.
• Let users lead the way. Our users inform where we are going. Our teams focus on listening to users, and letting their needs guide us to the best solutions. It’s important for us to know we are solving for real people and not just the loudest voice in the room.
• Work with small multi-disciplinary teams. You’ll partner closely with engineering, product, and the business to find elegant but practical solutions to design challenges. You’ll support visions with thoughtfully executed design solutions and prototypes to convince stakeholders and business partners. Together, you’ll solve problems and come up with solutions that delight our users.
• Be autonomous. You’ll take full ownership of your work, and you take responsibility for every last detail, every step of the way.
• Rapidly produce multiple concepts and prototypes; knowing when to apply pixel-perfect attention to detail, and when to make low-fi sketches and prototypes.
Who you are
• You have demonstrated experience designing at consumer-focused tech or media companies; experience designing for mobile is a plus.
• You have great talent and potential to grow as an incredible designer with amazing graphic design aesthetic, and point of view as well as strong interaction design skills. You’ve shipped many consumer products over the years, and understand what it takes to create awesome, consumer-oriented experiences.
• You get nervous if you’re not sketching concepts, tweaking flows or prototyping that represent strong design thinking and sound rationale for your design solutions.
• You’re a great communicator. You have the communication skills to help set up frameworks and brainstorm initial design concepts. You also have the ability to mentor others to deliver work, and make strategy come to life.
• You have incredible visual design skills and also have a passion for design overall.
• You are constantly looking to hone your design instinct through user feedback. Whether through hands-on user research, or by designing options for an A/B test.
• You are open to adapting and experimentation with new creative processes.
• You aren’t afraid to challenge and educate our stakeholders.
Reports to: Product Design Manager
Location
You will be based at our Head office in Westfield, London, W12.
Hours
Your hours will be 37.5 hours per week working Monday to Fridays.
