Senior Store Designer (Bobbi Brown/La Mer/Jo Malone London) - Asia Pacific Design Centre
PRIMARY FUNCTION
Responsible for interpreting Global designs, preparing construction documentation, detailing and regional roll-out of Bobbi Brown/ La Mer / Jo Malone London, at point of sale for Asia/Pacific domestic retail distributions. Assists Manager and Directors to ensure consistency and quality across all APAC executions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide design solutions, technical drawings and specifications for Bobbi Brown/ La Mer / Jo Malone London distributions in Asia Pacific region.
• Facilitate the construction process with shopfitters, internal and key stakeholders.
• Review shopfitters’ shop drawings and progress developments.
• Educate new and existing shopfitters, update them on new techniques, details and directions for store design.
• Develop “Punch List” (list of deficiencies) for each installation to ensure compliance with global standards and resolve sub-standard construction in order to maintain a high level of quality.
• File and keep clear, understandable records of all stores for future reference. Manage design workflow and status.
• Assist Manager and Director in creating studio/design standards and guidelines for the team and Region.
• Provide guidance to junior, interns and new joins partners in the region on detailing and methods of construction.
• Interact with Indirect Procurement on cost optimization and price templates. Investigates, evaluates and qualifies new shopfitters for future markets and projects as needed.
• Consults with local Brand Managers and local team/design centers to analyze traffic flow to guarantee customer interaction; analyzes architectural features that may enhance or distract from location; inspects sites to ensure cohesive design and speeds approval process.
• Document and facilitates communications with Global/Regional design groups on store appearance; informs all parties involved of any updates and / or revisions to standard details.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
• College/University graduate in Architecture and/or Design preferred or creative with formal training in architecture and/or interior design & detailing.
• Experienced on CAD/CAM software (preferably Macintosh VectorWorks). Able to design & detail scaled working construction drawings. Adaptable to new computer technology.
• Minimum of four (4) years experience in construction documentation (Architectural & Detailing).
• Shows good understanding of :
◦ material, colour, light, texture, and finish.
◦ retail environment design requirements including traffic flow, human scale, and branding.
◦ interior construction detailing.
• Demonstrates good time management skills.
• Able to communicate effectively with all levels both verbally and through drawings.
• Experienced in graphics, layouts and interior signage.
• Works well with other designers, across functions and all levels.
• Presents him/herself in a professional manner; has an understanding of appropriate image and conduct.
• Excellent verbal and written English skills, fluency in one other regional language is an added advantage.
