Visual Merchandiser - Newport Beach, California
The Visual Merchandiser supports the General Visual Manager and Visual Merchandising Managers to lead a profitable and customer centric environment by developing talent, facilitating the merchant process and applying merchant skills to create a compelling, well-curated customer experience.
REPORTS TO: General Visual Manager and Visual Merchandising Managers
AESTHETIC UNDERSTANDING & APPLICATION
• Has a strong understanding of trend and style that is reflective of the brand and local core customer
• Supports the execution of presentation inclusive of merchandising, floor planning, display and outfitting
• Supports product placement and outfitting that is reflective of trend, reinforces brand messaging, and inspires the customer
• Leads stock-to-sales processes and presentation standards
• Utilizes and maintains store structure and floor plan to creatively apply merchant skills
• Contributes creative ideas and solutions regarding merchandising and display
• Develops an understanding of how the merchant process impacts business and the customer experience
• Participates in an environment of creativity, inspiration and idea generation
• Supports the team in connecting brand aesthetic with store Social Media platforms
PEOPLE AND DEVELOPMENT
• Recruits, hires, and retains top talent to build bench for the store and brand
• Partners with the Store Manager to create and maintain a succession strategy
• Develops assessment skills and encourages an entrepreneurial approach with display and merchandising
• Plans and executes meetings and workshops that are collaborative, educational and motivational
• Takes responsibility for own development and professional growth, identifies and trains replacement in preparation for career progression
CUSTOMER CONNECTION
• Cultivates an environment of creativity to engage the customer and team
• Acts as a brand ambassador reflective of the company values and aesthetic
• Understands store specific distinctions to guide and tailor the experience
• Supports with engagement of local community via events and social media platforms
LEADERSHIP
• Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills; appropriately filters and communicates presentation initiatives
• Possesses strong assessment and decision-making skills
• Is an entrepreneur, takes smart risks with measurable results
• Provides global insight in relationship to merchandising, display and fixture needs and communicates information to the SM and VM
• Acts as a liaison between leadership/visual team to store team by filtering communication of all presentation initiatives
• Builds and maintains productive partnerships
• Attends prototypes, store openings, meetings and display workshops where applicable
