The Designer works directly with the Senior Designer and Art Director on a wide variety of 360 campaigns, and design projects. An ideal candidate can effectively combine photography, typography and motion, creating fascinating interactive experiences.
Daily responsibilities will include executing on creative briefs for seasonal creative such as email designs, web layouts, and social media posts. The ideal candidate should be proficient at collaborating on seasonal campaigns and searching for competitive research and production of approved design work. Responsibilities also include ideation of various forms of motion: video, animation, spec video edits and storyboards to help visualize the seasonal campaigns.
Candidates should be passionate about the fashion space as well as have a keen eye for photography, cinematography and video editing, design, typography, and be familiar with current design trends and best practices for both digital, print and video. Creating storyboards and mood videos is essential to this role while creating animation elements are a plus. Flexibility and an interest in creative collaboration between multidisciplinary teams will be essential to help support the brand’s creation of innovative multi-tiered campaigns. Critical thinking, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills will be required.
Key Responsibilities:
• Report to Senior Designer and Art Director and partner on all projects from concept to post-production.
• Support overall site design and updates for Michaelkors.com. Translate business and marketing objectives into designs that are clear, compelling, visually exciting, easy to use and emotionally engaging.
• Create dynamic video edits that help visualize the seasonal campaigns.
• Storyboarding concepts for videos and searching for video references.
• Be a creative design and management lead on projects as warranted.
• Understanding of shooting and retouching process.
• Efficiently manager time and is able to execute designs quickly.
• Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.
• Translate business and marketing objectives into designs that are clear, compelling, visually exciting, and easy to understand
• Contribute to the evolution of the brand image
Qualifications:
• Minimum 3-4 years in a fashion or luxury agency or in-house environment
• BFA in Graphic Design or equivalent
• Must have an excellent eye for typography, layout, and branding
• Proficiency with Adobe CC, including Adobe Premier, AfterEffects is a plus
• Knowledge fo storyboarding and ideating videos or elements of motion
• Strong project management, organizational and planning skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Experience working on holistic campaigns spanning digital, print, and social
• On set photography experience and retouching knowledge a plus
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, Responsive web design, After Effects & motion design a plus
