THE ROLE
The Associate Digital Merchandiser is a key member of the digital team. They will assist with the online merchandising of Cinmar’s eCommerce websites, Frontgate.com and GrandinRoad.com. It is their responsibility to assist the Digital Merchandisers in data analysis, site performance, and external/internal research in order to deliver effective merchandising strategies that will result in allowing customers to find products easier, tell the differentiating story of our products, cross/up-sell to increase AOV, and other strategies to grow the contribution of their categories to the company’s overall performance. This individual will also collaborate with the internal Digital team and cross-functionally with Marketing, Operations, Creative, Merchandising, Quality Assurance, and Customer Care so it is imperative that they have good communication skills and excellent follow through.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for online product merchandising to increase customer conversion and improve customer experience.
• Assist in performing in-depth analysis of business, including, online metrics (conversion rates, visits, views, orders, abandoned cart rate, bounce rate, etc.) to look for sales opportunities, problems and trends using tools such as Coremetrics, Google Analytics and Compass.
• Will assist in implementation of merchandising to support A/B and multivariate testing, geo-targeting offers, site personzalition, special web-only offers, tracking data, reporting results and making recommendations for web enhancements to improve the online customer experience.
• Assist in driving and increase conversion contributing to the growth of the bottom line
• Establish collaborative relationships by attending monthly business review meetings with the Merchant, Buyers and Planners to discuss online growth, opportunities and ensure consistent customer experience across all channels.
• Assist Digital Merchandisers in maintaining various project schedules and deadlines, product setup/management along the product lifecycle, categorization, internal site search optimization, sort order strategy/execution, banner configuration, issue investigation, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in an eCommerce field of study, Journalism, Advertising, Marketing, Business or Communications.
• Over one year of eCommerce retail experience or related B2C exposure.
• Direct experience working in a merchandising environment with a retailer, cataloger or sales agency.
• One or more years working within a Content Management System in an eCommerce environment is advisable.
• Intermediate understanding of basic web technologies (e.g., HTML, JavaScript, ASP and XML).
• Excellent client management skills.
• Strong attention to detail skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Exude a strong sense of teamwork by working together effectively, respectfully and efficiently with all team members in a very fast-paced work environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects at one time.
• Familiarity with advanced Excel (pivot tables, graphing, etc), Photoshop, understanding of web design, programming and site analytics are a plus.
