Native Moms Editor & Content Strategist
POPSUGAR is looking for an experienced, fun, and hard-working parenting editor to join our branded content team as a Moms Editor and Strategist. Our ideal candidate is creative, collaborative, thinks on his or her feet, has a smart, fun voice, and is able to lead of team of parenting writers. If you knew about fidget spinners before they were in every kid’s hands, have found the secret to overnight potty training, and are the one friend other parents come to for give-it-to-me-straight advice, we want to talk to you!
Responsibilities and key accountabilities:
• Oversee strategy for all parenting brand content
• Use industry expertise, POPSUGAR Insights, and experience to create standout multi-channel content packages for POPSUGAR partners
• Manage Native Moms editors and interns, providing direct feedback on content and overall performance
• Work cross-functionally with sales, brand strategy, POPSUGAR Insights, and marketing to create innovative, successful, ROI-driven content and social programs that provide seamless integration for POPSUGAR partners
• Oversee the pre-sale brainstorms and packaging of native concepts for Moms pitches; generate content ideas to support network-wide editorial initiatives and help package them into client-facing collateral
• Contribute to video process, including storyboard development, creative concept integration, and liaising with POPSUGAR Studios
• Respond to sales and client feedback while maintaining POPSUGAR voice and achieving client KPIs
• Execute all sold Moms programs: work with team to conceptualize, develop, write, and edit custom content that's thematically aligned with an advertiser’s goals under tight deadlines
• Interact with clients on collaborative calls and address all client revisions
• Generate monthly and ad-hoc reports to executive team on competitive landscape, metrics, and POVs on the sponsored/branded content space
• Work closely with teams across POPSUGAR Sales and The Bakery, including marketing, sales, photography, video, events, and client services
Experience:
• 5-7 years editorial or advertising/brand writing experience (mix of editorial and brand/agency experience a plus)
• Parenting experience or savvy: you must be a parent or lifestyle expert with experience in a related field and be qualified to share expert parenting advice
• Working knowledge of brands/influencers/experts within the parenting space
• Skilled at refining and executing stories that resonate with a millennial audience, meet advertiser goals, and are SEO-optimized
• Highly creative and conceptual, with a portfolio of editorial and/or copywriting samples to share
• Some experience in working in collaborative sales processes, including the interaction required in an advertising sales environment
• A deep understanding of the current social, digital, digital, branded content, and mobile landscapes
• Strong understanding of how to offer solutions for advertisers long-term business objectives
• Ability to inspire and excite junior team members about native advertising
• A familiarity with and passion for the POPSUGAR brand
