Brand Manager (Executive Director) - Tom Ford / By Kilian / Le Labo / Frederic Malle
JOB SUMMARY
Holds primary accountability for achieving brand sales and P&L (including NOP) targets for the Tom Ford / By Kilian / Le Labo / Frederic Malle brands in Canada. Works closely with affiliate General Manager and North America Brand Lead to set goals, develop, and implement plans.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Customer and Market Share Growth
•Ensures that brand image and position are properly maintained in accordance with corporate standards.
•Drives development of the brands to leverage consumer insights/ethnicity for brand growth – through detailed Canadian consumer knowledge, retailing landscape, competitor activities, products and markets
•Ensures consistent interpretation of brand objectives and strategies.
•Monitors for appropriate implementation of brand identity tools (ex: merchandising guidelines, media positioning, catalog advertising, product assortment, sales staffing, and store/site selection).
•Works closely with affiliate Marketing, PR and Advertising to ensure that brand objectives are clearly translated into the local market.
•Creates and maintains relationships with business partners, retailers and key customers.
•Support in the development of the relevant e-commerce platform/solution for the brand within the Canadian market
2. Manages Operational Effectiveness
•Works with GM & Brand Leads on brand distribution strategies and recommendations for Canada ensuring the correct structure is in place to support and drive each brand within the cluster, developing the strategies to develop and deliver the correct mix of business across each of the cluster’s sales channels
•Sets and meets market share, sales, asset management, and profitability goals.
•Works with Marketing, Creative, Visual Merchandising, Packaging, and Labs to develop products and concepts exclusive for the Canadian market.
•Develops plans for Training, Merchandising, Store Design, and PR and determines product selection, assortment, pricing and promotional plans.
•Proposes media and advertising choices and negotiates rates with business partners.
•Leads activities associated with new door and market launches.
•Develops sales cycle material for sales force to meet specific distribution channel requirements.
•Maintains appropriate communication between the brand, the region, and NY headquarters.
3. Business Processes
•Streamlines operations, reduces costs and implements financial and management technologies to enhance efficiency of brand operations.
•Evaluates competitive challenges for brand and identifies opportunities for growth and profit enhancement.
•Monitors competitive activity and trends in markets, customers, products, prices and channels
4. Team Management
•Leads and develops large field team and builds organizational capability.
•Sets and communicates high workplace operating standards, values and expectations.
•Ensures proper training of all point-of-sale, area management, and office personnel.
•Works with General Manager, Canadian Affiliate and Human Resource team to ensure appropriate staffing and establish performance management and development initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
•10+ years of marketing and sales experience preferably from the beauty luxury or consumer packaged goods industry.
•Strong understanding of Canada’s economic, political, social, cultural, and business landscape.
•Ability to translate Canadian consumer insights into business strategy.
•Strongly recommend that a key qualification is strong background in Specialty Multi Channel as well as our key retailers for these luxury brands.
•Strong financial and analytical skills; former P&L management required.
•Strong team player with excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
•Strong talent management skills; ability to select, develop and build a team.
•Change leadership skills; flexible and able to initiate and react effectively to change.
•Understands how to build collaborative relationships in a matrix organization and with our retail partners.
